Obama's private army? (Could 'our' president feel threatened?)
Canada Free Press ^ | 4/11/2010 | Henry Lamb

Who knew that Obamacare provides for a “Regular Corps,” and a “Ready-Reserve Corps,” of officers and individuals who are appointed by the President? Commissioned officers are subject to active duty at the call of the Surgeon General. The new law provides $17.5 million in each of the first four years to recruit and train these reserves.

During his campaign, Obama said “We cannot continue to rely only on our military…we’ve got to have a civilian security force just as powerful, just as strong, just as well-funded. We cannot continue to rely only on our military in order to achieve the national security objectives we’ve set.” Beginning of Obama’s civilian security force

Section 5210 of the Patient’s Protection and Affordable Care Act (a.k.a. Obamacare) may be the beginning of Obama’s civilian security force. This section amends Section 203 of the U.S. Public Health Service Act. Why it was included in the massive health care bill is a question in search of meaningful answers. Judge Andrew Napolitano from FOX News has a few questions of his own.

The new law says “The purpose of the Ready Reserve Corps is to fulfill the need to have additional Commissioned Corps personnel available on short notice (similar to the uniformed service’s reserve program) to assist regular Commissioned Corps personnel to meet both routine public health and emergency response missions.”

The law requires the Ready Reserve to participate in “routine training” to meet the general and specific needs of the Commissioned Corps. The Ready Reserve “shall” be ready for involuntary calls to active duty. The Ready Reserve must be prepared to respond to orders from the President to go anywhere in the country, or anywhere outside the country. Posse Comitatus Act

Oath of Enlistment or Commissioning:

I, _____, do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; and that I will obey the orders of the President of the United States and the orders of the officers appointed over me, according to regulations and the Uniform Code of Military Justice...

Note that the first and second clauses are directed toward the Constitution. Obeying the orders of the president is third.

Could we have a military coup in our future? Dunno, but it would certainly be an improvement over Obama Marxism!

This is utter non-sense---I've worked quite closely with the USPHS and its uniformed Commissioned Corps, with deep roots going back to the old Marine Hospital created by President John Adams in 2798.

Commissioned officers are mostly doctors, nurses, sanitarians, engineers, scientists, and environmental health specialists whose primary mission is infectious disease control and prevention. They have virtually saved millions of American lives, and should be regarded the same as the other six uniformed services (Army, Navy, Marines, USAF, Coast Guard, and NOAA).

While I'm fully conscious of Obama's desire for a civilian force of brown-shirt thugs to do his bidding, the USPHS ain't it. To suggest otherwise is laughable.

“You’re fooling yourself. The Lite-beer-drinking, tattooed yahoos that run around in camo calling themselves “thuh Muhlisha” won’t stop anything except a few bullets from some FBI sniper’s rifle.”

I wasn’t talking about them. I was talking about the constitutional American militia and I don’t neccessarily think they will stop anything. I meant “If anyone will stop it..”.

Strange, very strange. Who put this in the law?

Hate to sound cliche, but this must be the “Hope and Change” this creature promised.
Your way of thinking is right on point. The SEIU are the thugs, the Homos, the drug addicts the Brownshirts were, while “Obama’s Private Army” will be the Bodyguard unit and the GESTOPO, with more funding and first crack at any new equipment than the regular army.
Scary times we live in these days. Would you have ever thought this would happen here?

How about we patriotic Americans apply for this “army” and that way we can see firsthand what he intends to do with it? Kind of an insider....

More or less, a sanctioned militia.

The militia still exists. They are the States' Armed Forces. The organized portion of each State's Militia is its National Guard. The unorganized portion is every able-bodied male state citizen between certain ages; e.g. 16-60 years old.

This has always been the case in our country and the colonies preceding the country!

Obama's reserve force is something different. It is his very own army of Brown Shirts. Remember, the Democrats have always wanted control of an internal army. They have tried mightily over the decades to subvert Law Enforcement Organizations to that end. Now with the so-called Health Care Act they and Obama have their army of thugs "authorized" in law.

More than anything else this should wake up America to the fact that Obama and the Democrats are Nazis!

This token president is not pulling the strings, he's too stupid. He will be sacrificed as the figurehead that throws America into the hands of socialism. We need to expose the whole bunch so keep showing America who the traitors are...being the democratic congress. Lots of pictures everywhere.

A group of doctors ready to serve in disaster areas is not a private army.

" It has been pointed out in other threads on this subject that the word "Corps" refers to healthcare workers and that the word "emergency" is again a reference to healthcare needs. I contend that it means whatever Obama decides it means."

Right-you-are! Obama and Michelle never have believed in the U.S. Constitution....they believe and work for the ACORN type union organization....take a look at the Kenyan politics..........

That’s why I have said that if things ever do get “out of control”, it is imperative to take over MSM broadcast studios.

This should be one of the first steps in the resistance. The "MSM" so called, is what got us to this point. One can blame the education system for raising generations of "brains full of mush" students that do not know history, but the "MSM" is clearly to blame for putting the current RAT party in complete control of our Federal Government. Why are so many people only now waking up to the fact they just might have elected the wrong gang?? I just might be too late, since the Congress seems to be in the hands of the MARXISTS also. I want someone, like Beck, Brietbart, or Hannity with their TV shows, to investigate and come up with facts about who has actually taken over our Government. The boy king is simply a figurehead along with his croonies in the Congress. I thought Congress was to be the check and balance on the Executive and I also seem to remember the LEFT screaming about how the minority (Dems during the evil Bush regime) were supposed to be the check and balance in the Congress. I don't seem to be hearing that pronouncement anymore now the GOP is the minority in Congress. Oh, that's right, the Lame Stream Media is controlled by the RAT party.

“Most of this talk about Obama’s army is pure bunk, real tin foil hat stuff.”

I would not necessarily dismiss more sinister ulterior motives here. Most sinister programs begin innocently enough. They are then transformed to suit the original secret intent of the author. Perhaps this corps (or corpse?) will only provide federal medical help during medical emergencies. Even if this is all they did, we know they would be as effective as the federal H1N1 vaccination effort. As far as panels are concerned, they currently in place as a result of the stimulus bill. Rationing will be an inevitable consequence of the economics 0bama has set into motion with 0bamacare and his other destructive policies.

But for a regime that “never wants a crisis to go to waste” and one that wants a civilian army to be just as strong as our military, do you want to take that chance? The 0bama regime has revealed their real intentions on many occasions at meetings with their ardent supporters. The 0bama regime has in effect already written their own version of Mein Kampf, so heed the warning.

I’ll keep the tin hat just in case. It will probably be more useful than the rose colored glasses.

The American people may oppose the nation’s present course, but by themselves the people cannot change it. They may oppose the taxes and the bureaucrats, but these are merely consequences, which cannot be significantly cut back so long as their source is untouched. (Emphasis mine. Noumenon) The people may curse “big government” in general – but to no avail if the pressure groups among them, following the logic of a mixed economy, continue to be fruitful and to multiply. The people may “swing to the right,” but it is futile, if the leaders of the right are swinging to their own (religious) brand of statism.

The country may throw the rascals out, but it means nothing if the next administration is made of neo-rascals from the other party. To change a nation’s basic course requires more than a mood of popular discontent. It requires the definition of new direction for the country to take. Above all, it requires a theoretical justification for this direction, one which would convince people that the course being urged is practical and moral.

Moral considerations alone might not be sufficient to move men, if they believe the course being urged is impractical; practical considerations alone will not move men, if they believe the course is immoral. The union of the two, however, is irresistible.

By its nature, changing the course of a nation is a task that can be achieved only by men who deal with the field of ideas. In the long run the people of a country have no alternative: they end up following the lead of the intellectuals. The intellectuals cannot escape ideas, either. They may become anti-ideological skeptics, who offer the country for guidance only subjective feelings and short-range pragmatism (describes the current political landscape all too well. Noumenon); but it is the ideas – ultimately, the basic ideas – they still accept, explicitly or otherwise, which determine the content of their feelings and of their pragmatism.

In the long run, intellectuals, too, have no alternative: they end up following the lead of the philosophers. If there is no new philosophy to guide and rally the better men among them, the intellectuals will follow one that is old and bankrupt. If there are no living ideas, they will follow dying ones and take the country with them…

In the absence of any principled opposition, the Kantian ideas by default will continue to rule, and to move us further down the road on which, for so many years, we have been traveling.

“Restoring checks and balances to restore balance to an out of control government” should be a dominant them for the midterm elections.
