Big Brother is Watching You.
Orwell was prescient; he just had his dates a little off.
Good for you!
Most companies do that now already.
It's also a violation of the fourth amendment to the US Constitution. Of course, the democRATS hate that document since it limits government's power.
Actually, I paid my property taxes Monday with cash! First time I did it. I called first and they accept cash. Apparently, they will only accept cash from some people, so I decided to try it. It did feel a little strange though.
How does that work? Do you pay on line or what?
The GOP cannot and will not protect us.
We are on our own.
I believe that it also establishes electronic health records of all citizens available to pretty much anyone in the government. So much for the “right to privacy” that the government claimed to be the sole foundation for abortion on demand.
They didn’t have a problem with someone paying in cash insofar as the actual handling thereof was done by a subcontracted private entity for that purpose.
I pointed out they could either take payment or issue me a letter saying they refused payment.
Yep, it does that too. It also allows the gov to access directly access bank accounts and all records of health insurance providers.
That’s understandable...but you’ve got to learn to think progressive...The Constitution is “the politics of the past” ;)
BTW: proving my point of not trusting an intermediary private company commissioned by the gov’t agency to take payment on their behalf - last year I paid my income tax via credit card using the authorized private intermediary ... who, it turns out, failed to transfer the funds, causing me fines. Methinks I’ll pay in cash at the nearest IRS office this year.
My daughter told me she and her husband paid their taxes with a credit card and were charged an extra $45.
As for the snooping into bank accounts, that privacy was lost with the Patriot Act.
Ping
As far as safety goes, no one could get past my dogs and even if they did, the safe is totally hidden and secured. They'd basically have to tear down the house to get to it and they better bring some heavy equipment to move it. I'm sure my neighbors would notice that and call the cops ; )
Looks like the democrats will have to keep the loby money in the freezer, kenmore freezer sales to sky rocket.
But Jorge Bush was the real threat to our liberties!
