Rest of title: "Stupak, on Defense, Compares Order to Emancipation Proclamation"
President Obama signed the Senate health care bill into law Tuesday. He did not sign the executive order on abortion negotiated with Michigan Democratic Congressman Bart Stupak in an 11th-hour arrangement that may well have saved the entire health care reform effort.
A White House official told Fox, Obama will not sign the Executive Order Tuesday and has set no specific date to do so. Stupak predicted Obama would sign the order later this week. The White House said only that Obama would sign the order "soon."
In two celebratory speeches Tuesday - one at the bill's signing, the other at the Interior Department with health care advocates - Obama said nothing about the abortion issue or the executive order.

Suckers.
Stupak KNEW he was going to get rolled. All he cared about was what people saw on TV last Sunday, and he knows that’s all they’ll remember. There’s no follow-up with those who form their world view from the Oprah show and Judge Judy. Trading abortion to save face is all this was. One can’t be more sinister and EVIL than that, except for maybe Obama.
Stupid Pak you cheap whore. You got your $20 for pleasuring Obama. Now shut up and go away.
I think he’ll only have Bibi present at the signing: guaranteed no pictures.
I don’t quite understand how an executive order can circumvent the written law. If that was the case then any president could just say to hell with the law I give an executive order. What ever that means.
And he got his airport.
AMEN! Now paste Stupak’s face over Chamberlain’s and put the Senate in the background.

'Nother good one.
So you have to ask, if he IS going to sign it, why hasn’t he signed it yet?
Two possibilities — the first is simply he wants to separate it from the bill in time, so it isn’t news, or so it could be argued to not be a signing statement or actually have effect on the bill.
The second is that the administration is now scrambling to put in place all the new abortion funding and processes, so that when Obama signs the order, it has no effect. I don’t remember if the order says anything about revoking anything already put in place, or whether it simply says what will be done “in the future”.
looks like i’m wrong, he is signing it today, but closed to the news media... with stupak?
why closed to the new media?
GREAT! Thanks
Just wait until you see all the media cameras at this event!
There will be NONE - Private signing attended by only the
RATS who are allegedly pro-life.

Do you think NOW and the other NAGs will be there to protest?
Exactly. Since this is a complete bastardization of our political process, the government is fraudulent. The GOP should vote NO on all pending legislation and nominees until the next Congress is seated.

Planned Parenthood President Cecile Richards has issued a statement declaring victory after the Senate health care bill’s passage Sunday, noting that the abortion-related executive order Rep. Bart Stupak (D-Mich.) agreed to in exchange for pro-life Democrats’ votes was merely a “symbolic gesture.”
