New York Post: Truman, Ike, Reagan: Next Up, Sarah Palin!
Citizen Palin 4 President ^
| Ralph Peters
Posted on 03/17/2010 7:46:25 AM PDT by MaxCUA
THE ISSUE: Whether presidential candidates today have character, as their predecessors did. In looking for a president with the character of Dwight Eisenhower, Harry Truman and Ronald Reagan, Ralph Peters asks, "Will we ever again have a president who didn't go to an Ivy League school, who knows what it's like to struggle -- as so many Americans struggle every day -- and who's tasted defeat, but got back in the ring with his dukes up?" ("Why Our 'Post-Modern Presidents' Fail,").
The answer is "yes." Her name is Sarah Palin. etc...

IFILL: We do need to keep within our two minutes. But I just wanted to ask you, do you support capping carbon emissions?
PALIN: I do. I do.
Reagan was pro choice and was a democrat once but changed,
All I know is she's not for it now!
To: factmart
Palin cheered on carbon caps as the Republican nominee for Vice President less than a year and a half ago.
All I know is she's not for it now!
Really? What about tomorrow?

The fact that its so hard to get an answer to that question from these people is probably the single thing that burns me the most. If you dont like Palin, tell me who. I dont know is not an answer. I dont know what I Dont Knows policy positions are. Therefore, I cant have an opinion one way or the other on I Dont Know. I cant cut checks for I Dont Know. I cant go door to door or make calls for I Dont Know. And ultimately I cant vote for I Dont Know. And no, its not really that long from now til November 2012, so waiting out in the patch until October 2012 for the Great Pumpkin to show up is not really an option. 1. There's nothing wrong with scratching a potential candidate off the list before picking someone you do favor.
2. You don't have to wait until October 2012 to make your decision. However, you could at least wait until late 2010 or early 2011 to see who's actually running in the primaries.

Do you mean to say that she abandoned her position to play on the team? How is that a positive? What other principles will she abandon if it means she gets to play?

Of course she did!
McCain was a superstar to her, she followed his lead and handlers to a tee, then got hammered afterwards.
McCain is USING her again!

Instead of hammering Palin, who would YOU pick as an acceptable contender?
I’ll wait.

I think she actually did say it, and the libs and Tina Fey made a big out of context deal out of it. I could be wrong, but I think I remember hearing Sarah say it.

Nope. Sarah never said it. It was written for a comedy skit for SNL.
To: Randy Larsen
Hammering palin? Asking relevent questions is hammering her? Man you kids are soft.

I caught that, Thanks

Palin did say that you could see Russia from Alaska (when talking about her FP experience). SNL morphed that into I can see Russia from my house.

You can see Russia from Alaska. You can even walk there from Alaska when the Bering freezes over in one spot.
To: texmexis best
No kidding. What exactly does that have to do palin’s suggestion that this equates to FP experience? Please be specific.

Alaska has extensive contacts with Siberia and Russia for trade purposes.
Canada too.
