If Senator Reid, Speaker Pelosi, and President Obama get their way, soon our country will be changed forever. Using every partisan parliamentary trick in the book (including some they invented just last week), Washingtons Left intends to ram through their takeover of our health care system regardless of the consequences.
The latest twists and turns in the Obamacare drama seem almost surreal. One minute the Democrat leadership is trying to amend a bill before the president has even signed it into law, and the next minute theyre trying to draft a new rule that will allow the House to deem a bill passed without actually voting on it! Theyre determined to use the Senate reconciliation process as a parliamentary trick to bypass the regular voting procedure (and by the way, to add insult to injury, theyre now going to ram through federalization of Americas student loan industry with this same reconciliation vote). Is there any other wildly unpopular legislation theyd also like to sneak in? Perhaps the anti-energy-independence policy Cap and Tax (aka Cap and Trade) is next?

As usual, Sarah sees it clearly.
Nice way to hijack a thread. Your first comment has absolutely no bearing on what Gov. Palin said.
Palin has really come out and attacked Obozo. We are standing against Deathcare. I apperciate her rallying the troops.
Now are you happy? I never hijacked your thread. People stay away for the same reason you were attacked today.
Have a nice evening.

The message got out and that’s all that counts.
I noticed that, people look thats for sure.
Well that’s interesting because most third party votes in Illinois go to Greens, libertarians, etc. Conservative third parties here have typically pulled far fewer votes, so unless you’re talking about elections that came down to a tenth of a percentage point, I’m not buying what you’re selling. Especially here in Illinois. Right now a small army of Independents are gathering for a run against Mark Kirk. You want him to win? He thinks its OK to suck the brains out of babies. He voted for Cap & Trade, so don’t tell me he’s a fiscal conservative. What would you have us to do? Wait & try again six years from now, after Kirk has “Spectered” us in the back?
Captured and added to the list.
The problem here is that Obama and his administration consider healthcare to be a power grab, that is an essential goal in advancing their communist ideology: that government should get control of their citizens and decide what is best for them. About a year ago I posted a few times here on FR that Obama would pass healthcare even if he had 20% approval in the polls, and in those days Obama was riding high at about 64% approval in the polls.
I believe that the root of communism is the destruction of the capitalistic system by government takeover through the nationalization of healthcare and the nationalization of big companies, the destruction of private property, the reeducation of the population (brain washed) based on Marxist ideology, and the mentality that the state exerts influence on who lives and who dies. Ultimately, it is about power in the hands of a few. We are seeing these goals advanced little by little by the Obama policies, and at least he is trying hard.
If this healthcare bill passes it will be only the beginning of the fall of the most powerful society in the world. Unfortunately, we have a complicit media that doesn't care to inform the people about the dangers of Obama's policies, and it's hard for people to evaluate the enormity of this potential destruction.
Nevertheless, thanks to the alternative media, such as the internet, and people like Sarah Palin, conservatives radio hosts, and a few conservatives in the media who keep pounding on this subject, people got a good idea about the dangers of this bill. I just wish more in the media would spread the message and the seriousness of it.
There are more states in America besides Illinois
I live in a large city in a large state and see
events in the big picture.
Take Oregon for example. 2008 Senate election.
Jeff Merkley - Democrat - 864,392
gordon Smith - Republican - 805,159
David Brownlow - Libertarian - 92,565
59,233 votes difference between the Democrat and Republican
If those who voted for the Third Party, knowing they were going to lose, voted for the Republican, there would be one more Republican in the Senate and voting against Obama agenda.
The vote in Minn. was so close between third party and ACORM votes, it took a few months to decide the so called
winner. Air America, far left Al Frankin, Democrat.
House races and other the same story.
For those who have everything 100% pure in their life.
Total Pure health, Pure car that will have no mechanical problems, Everything all 100% Pure that your candidate has
to be 100% Pure or you would rather have the Liberal Democrat, All or Nothing.
This is the mind of a 3 year old.
BTTT!
If ever the Time should come, when vain & aspiring Men shall possess the highest Seats in Government, our Country will stand in Need of its experienced Patriots to prevent its Ruin. -Samuel Adams 1780
So sucking the brains out of babies is a minor, excusable impurity to you? Cap & Trade’s budget-busting, nanny-state Orwellian “smart houses” are just slight deviations that should be overlooked? I think not.
I don’t live in Oregon. I live in Illinois, and that’s what I have to deal with.
BTW, Minnesota’s Dean Barkley was running under the banner of the Independence Party (formerly Ventura’s Reform Party), which is nearly indistinguishable from classic libertarianism; mostly fiscally conservative, socially liberal, and generally anti-war. He supposedly peeled about as many votes away from Franken as he did from Coleman. If it had not been an anti-Republican year, he probably would not have done as well against Coleman. But because Republicans had lost their way on fiscal conservatism, they made themselves vulnerable to such candidates.
So I don’t know how you plug that all in to some sweeping generalization that all third party/independent ventures are inherently bad. When R-Mart and D-Mart are promoting indistinguishably bad products, a person of conscience must choose a third route. Or do you not believe in free market principles when it comes to the market place of ideas?
I live in San Diego.
If they use the Slaughter rule it won’t matter much will it?
Hatred is too cool a word for how I feel.
If hippies in Berkeley can do it over Vietnam, patriots can do it over keeping our country out of the SOCIALIST ABYSS.
As this thing ramps up day by day, if there are “stirrings” within the US military and the state national guard(s), and there may very well be (and particularly in the mid-career and senior career levels who understand their oaths to the Constitution and not to any one man acting in extra-Constitutional manners), do NOT post it in open forum on FR. Keep your powder dry and keep your ears open. We are in for quite a week in my estimate. They have indicated they are going to do everything including disregard for Representative Government to force us into a Socialist Leviathan. For starters I would (in addition to Capitol Hill) flood the offices of Republican Governors as well, particularly in states with majority Republican legislatures, and start discussing the legal, constitutional, peaceful, and tactical counter-options here to oppose the illegal and unwarranted acts of the undemocratic and harrassing Federal Government.
