System moving out of the Gulf of Mexico and through the Southeast today has already delivered a wide swath of wet snow accumulation through Alabama and into northern Georgia. Some of the higher terrain of northeast Alabama has seen 3 to 6 of accumulation. The highest totals received so far: Lookout Mtn-Chattanooga, TN (7), Pisgah, AL (6), Coker Creek, TN (6), Collinsville, AL (5), Mentone, AL (4), Hayesville, NC (4), Whitewell, TN (4), SE Huntsville, AL (3), Arab, AL (3), Albertville, AL (3) and Grant, AL (3). This system will continue to track NNE along the Atlantic coast over the next 48 hours and will continue to deliver a wide swath of heavy wet snow accumulation along the Appalachians from South Carolina into Pennsylvania.
Not only is this Bush’s fault, it’s even worse *precisely* because he defeated Al Gore.
Looks like warm days and cool nights will contuinue here in the midwest.
Thanks Dave. We here in western PA are bracing, not for snow, but for flooding. We’ve been doing rather well the last several days...temps in the 30s...very slow melt. But the local weather guys say we’re going to have at least three days of above 40 Saturday, Sunday and Monday. Wow I love it, but it’s not good for anyone in danger from flooding.
Good grief! DALE not Dave. And these are new glasses. *Sigh* My apologies.
Yep..... presently snowing in NC. 60 degrees last week. DAMN YOU ALGORE!
Make that cold mornings. we're still getting overnight frost, even though temps by the weekend should hit the low 40's.
When I was in college at Texas Tech on the high plains back in ‘77 one October when we were playing Texas in Lubbock, it snowed Friday night for the pep rally, Saturday it was 80 degrees for the game.
Tech won.
Yep. A couple of feet of snow on the ground up in the mountains. If it melts too fast, look out 3-rivers!
It gets very little sun so the warmer temps aren't helping melt much of the snow.
And, another storm is coming to Colorado late this weekend! Whoopeee!
