Since the beginning of 2010 there have been umpteen articles or polls regarding questioning the 'qualifications' of Sarah Palin for President of the United States. Here is a statement by Matthew Dowd, ex-Bush aide in the fall of 2009 that puts the topic in perspective:
"No sitting President of the United States in the 60 year history of the Gallup poll has failed to be re-elected going into the fall campaign if his job approval number was above 51% and no president with below 47% has been re-elected."
"The 2012 election will be PRIMARILY about our current president and whether voters are satisfied with the country's direction. Who the Republican candidate is, and his or her qualifications and abilities, will matter ONLY if Obama's approval rating is between 47 and 51% going into the fall of 2012."
COMMENT:
I know at FR it is extremely important to get the right GOP nominee in place to face off against Obama in 2012-I agree fully, but I would also suggest that we never take our eye off the ball regarding Obama's job approval numbers and perhaps put a much higher priority in causing them to stay in the zone of uncertainty between 47 and 51 if not lower than to nitpick away to distraction at the inadequacies or perceived weaknesses or flaws of the GOP candidates including Sarah Palin.
And I am not only talking here to Palinistas which I am one but to everyone on our side including Romneybots and Huckabee supporters who are also disgusted with Obama and his radical socialist agenda and firmly convinced he must be toppled from his throne in 2012.
For the record I am not saying that the posters at FR should abandon seeking the truth regarding the potential GOP candidates for the 2012 nomination, far from it, but I also believe we should never lose sight of the overall objective. Neither Palin, Romney nor Huckabee or any GOP dark horse is the enemy. Obama, the Far Left and the Democrats and their allies in the MSM are.
Huckabee is the enemy, he’s to the left of Obama on fiscal and nanny state issues. Social Conservatives can’t win on their own.
Palin - Could have rebuilt her image, but then she quit forever ruining her chances. Independents will never support her.
How about no more 2008 retreads,
Maybe Mitch Daniels maybe Paul Ryan.
You are entitled to your opinion who the GOP nominee should be but surely you and can walk and chew gum at the same time.
If the GOP picks the backstabber, and poor sport, Mitt RomneyCARE
after his attacks on Gov. Palin (through Team Romney) to throw the Election
to Obama, then the GOP simply does not deserve to survive.
No Person except a natural born Citizen, or a Citizen of the United States, at the time of the Adoption of this Constitution, shall be eligible to the Office of President; neither shall any Person be eligible to that Office who shall not have attained to the Age of thirty five Years, and been fourteen Years a Resident within the United States.
Palin simply doesn’t have leadership qualities. Infact, she has shown the exact opposite.
Her lack of ability to soak up knowledge is quite troubling as well.
No Palin, No Romney, No Huck..
0bama would lose if the elections were held today, but hey, we have another 3 years to go.
However, given that 0bama is a hard line, left wing radical and a Marxist ideologue, who is still trying to force through a highly unpopular 0bamacare bill, even after heavy Democratic losses in NJ, VA and MA, its pretty safe to say that his poll numbers will be lower than 47% in 2012.
0bama is a one termer.
Rasmussen:
Overall, 45% of voters say they at least somewhat approve of the President's performance. Fifty-three percent (53%) disapprove.

CNN:
CNN poll: 52% say Obama doesn't deserve reelection in 2012
52 percent of Americans said President Barack Obama doesn't deserve reelection in 2012, according to a new poll.
44 percent of all Americans said they would vote to reelect the president in two and a half years, less than the slight majority who said they would prefer to elect someone else.
Obama faces a 44-52 deficit among both all Americans and registered voters, according to a CNN/Opinion Research poll released Tuesday. Four percent had no opinion.

Sad state of affairs at FR based on that poll IMO.
Mitch Daniels got swamped by Palin by a 2-1 margin in a recent GOP presidential straw poll in his own state.
He may have just a wee problem generating voter enthusiasm...LOL.
Groan!
Not this BS again.
How about you get a life for a change, dude?
Jeb the RINOS RINO got two votes in here!!!!!!!!!!!
Stupidity never takes a holiday when you're an idiot slacker in mommy's basement.
Isn’t it amazing the name Obama comes up in few posts? Is the Messiah so inconsequential to why we come to FR?
Please, give me an example of where she showed leadership?
Not to worry. None of the FR poll winners ever win in real life. That’s why we love this quirky place, right?
Oh, come on! Huckabee to the left of Obama? That is pure idiocy.
As far as Palin hurting herself by resigning as governor, no amount of arguing is going to change your mind for it is too tightly closed.
“Palin simply doesnt have leadership qualities. Infact, she has shown the exact opposite.
Her lack of ability to soak up knowledge is quite troubling as well.”
Please go peddle your BS somewhere else.
Examples of her leadership ability? Waiting... Waiting... Waiting.... Man this could take a long time..
