Specter Admits it was a Mistake to Read Christmas Day Terrorist Bomber his "Miranda Rights" - Video

Here is video of Democrat Sen. Arlen Specter admitting that Terrorist Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab shoud NOT have been read his "Miranda Rights" following his attempt to blow up Northwest Airlines Flight 253 on Christmas Day.

Specter said they should have tried to get all information possible from Abdulmutallab in order to prevent future attacks.

Specter said it was unnecessary to read him his "Miranda warnings" even if you intend to try him in civilian court because "you had that guy dead to rights" without anything he might say following his capture. . . . (VIDEO)

What a miserable asshat. This guy along with Dumbo Casey really make it hard to be a Pennsylvanian. Some relief due in Nov.

A small, but meaningful, modification:

No lawyer I, but if I'm arrested and they don't read me my rights, I can get the case thrown out when it goes before a judge - no?

Or is it just that anything I say prior to mirandizing can't be used against me?

No, it just means that anything you said can't be used as evidence.

It’s too late at this point to admit it was a mistake. He’s been out there railing against those who opposed this move, insinuating they were stupid or Anti-American, and now the terrorist has his rights in hand and the US is in danger he wants to change his mind?

I don’t think that’s going to save your rude, ignorant butt, Arlen.

I don’t know what the problem is. This terrorist isn’t a CITIZEN of the U.S. Read him anything you like. He doesn’t HAVE ANY RIGHTS. THE ABJECT STUPIDITY OF ANY DEBATE ON THE MATTER IS APPALLING. USE ANY MEANS NECESSARY TO ELICIT ANY INFO AND THEN SHOOT THE SOB.

Arlen Specter lost his soul about a year ago when he voted for the stimulus package.

He is a pathetic human being.

His logic is stupid. So he says the reason you don't read him his rights is not because were at war and he was a member of the foreign factions trying to destroy us and he rightly belongs under military custody. No, his rationale is that we had him "dead to rights" so it was okay. In other words, he should be treated like a criminal and tried in civilian courts but since we know he's guilty he should be interrogated without being mirandized. Under that logic, they could refuse to mirandize YOU if they thought they had you "dead to rights", and I guess dispense with the trial too. He misses the mark entirely.

This guy was an enemy combatant. You don't mirandize prisoners of war. And you certainly don't declare he's entitled to full due process of a US citizen and then corrupt that due process, it's just stupid.
