I just wanted to brag about my daughter today. She won her school spelling bee today. What is very remarkable is that she's only in the third grade and beat all the fourth and fifth graders. Her picture is going to be in our town's newspaper, as well.
She's following in her dad's footsteps, I guess. ;-) I won 2 spelling bees (7th and 8th grade) when I was in school. She's a chip off the old block (vicariously bragging, sorry!) and we are all so very proud of her.
BTW, She's in the gifted program at her school. Her accomplishments keep mounting.
Fantastic Emmy, may I suggest viewing the documentary “Spellbound” featuring eight children peppered throughout the USA and their plight to attend the Spelling Bee Championship in Washington, DC.
Congratulations Emmy! You go girl!
That’s wonderful!!!
Congratulations to your daughter. Good job! I loved spelling in school and loved those spelling bees. :) Tell her to keep up the good work. :)
Cool!
It’s not bragging if you (or her in this case) can do it. Good for both of you!
Congrats!
How wonderful!
Tell her congratulations!
Still sounds like you raised good children. That’s a hard thing to do in this day and age, as I know, having a 5 year-old daughter myself.
Congratulations and treasure the moment.
Great job by both of you!
It’s tough. My kids don’t even swear and they are very polite and hard-working. Even more so than I was growing up. I wanted them to have more and I think instilling a good attitude and the right values in them is the way to go. They will have more because they were raised right. :-)
