Haiti telethon, Jan. 22, hosted by George Clooney -- OBAMA-THON in the making?

Loser actor George Clooney is hosting a telethon for Haiti on January 22. A worthwhile cause, but let's see if the following happen:

1. we'll hear how magnificent the Teleprompter is and
2. how bad the U.S. (specifically G.W. Bush) is
3. how "climate change" and healthcare are part of the problem
4. how the Teleprompter is the only thing that can save the world.

To top it off, this telethon is being held on the same day as the Right-to-Life March in Washington, DC -- and the tens of millions murdered by abortion far outnumber those killed by the earthquake. But you don't see any Hollywood types hosting telethons to stop the murder of the unborn.

I doubt that the telethon date was chosen arbitrarily. Let's see if the March for Life gets ANY television time at all -- even one mention on the 11:00 news -- on January 22.

My impresssion is that The March for Life never gets air time, except maybe a brief shot from CSPAN on a slow day. As for Clooney & Co., fine, let them waste their own money for a change.

Could we possibly frame this as being Obama’s “Katrina” moment, what with the fumbling and unwillingness to step in IMMEDIATELY, with every obstacle and bottleneck being the fault of The One at the top?

Air Force One should already have made a landing at the Port-au-Prince airport, just as soon as the way could be cleared, and the President should have been making his proclamation from the top of the airplane ramp.

Meanwhile, all talk of the election in Massachusetts and the progress of the proposed reconciliation on the “health bill” gets put on the back burner.

I’ve been doing a slow burn as our military is once more put in the role of social worker. This is a military and national security crisis. Chavez and Castro will take action if we don’t. It’s time to occupy Haiti for national security reasons and get control of the country. Maybe down the road we can do nation building since that’s worked so well in other parts of the world s\ but for now, order has to be restored at a minimum of risk to our military and relief workers. Its not going to happen though for fear the US will be accused of “gasp” imperialism. We’ve become a nation of wimps.
