Those who are obsessed with Sarah Palin will have plenty of new opportunities to love/hate the former Alaska Governor as she has just signed on as a contributor to the Fox News Channel. FNC has confirmed that while Ms. Palin will not have her own regular show, she will appear on the network’s programming on a regular basis as part of a multi-year deal and will host an occasional series that will run on the network from time to time.

I think we might have to accept that she has decided to be a cheeleader instead of a player.

Why? What is so "Presidential" about not being in the public eye? That sounds elistist to me, and since she is running as a pseudo-populist, being accessable and on the screen will let non-political people feel connected with her.

Let's face it, politically active people have already made up their minds about her. The mass number of people she can win over are not going to read a white paper on the trade situation of the pacific rim, they are going to watch her on TV and see if she is someone they like and can trust.

She hasn’t been making many good moves lately, imo.

That depends on what her future plans are. Maybe she's decided not to run - then this would be a great move - financially.

What other moves has she made lately that you think were not a good idea?

That’s for sure, do you know how Reagan polished his communication skills? GE Theater. He credits GE theater as the starting point for his career in politics.

Sarah Palin has already had a career in politics but what she was lacking is the communication necessary to deliver her message.

This may indeed help her.

EXACTLY. I don’t know why some are overreacting and saying she is going to have her own talk show, she is not! She is a political commentator, good for her. Many Dems watch Fox News too, this is her way to state her opinion to those who might not follow her on facebook or twitter. Look at Bill O’Reillys audience, many Dems watch him too. Sarah being a commentator and showing up once in a while to give her opinion about Obama’s agenda is GREAT..expect libs heads to explode in 5,4,3,2,1

Politically, it may be an error.

I tend to agree with you. But at least this is a better move then resigning as Governor of Alaska.

I was hoping she’d stay “above” TV, and thereby seem more presidential,

Hey, the liberals love the great Zero being on tv more than Larry King. And unfortunately he is president.

I think this move by Sarah is a very wise one. She keeps in the public eye. This will enfuriate all the liberals so she will be a constant source of talk on all the other channels and broadcast. She is able to speak directly to her base and to the Republicans through Fox.

Every successful politician in history has realized the importance of being constantly presented to the public. She will be doing that. Good move.

She’s not going to be a cheerleader, she is going to be a POLITICAL COMMENTATOR..geez do people read..she is not going to have her own talk show. She is basically going to take her facebook posts and put them out there for a larger audience. Appearing on Fox News from time to time to give her political opinions is great. She can appeal to those who might not share her views, she can go head to head with others who appear on the network to get her point across. Huckabee has his own talk show, Sarah Palin is going to be a commentator, there is a difference. And, Huckabee having his own show hasn’t hurt him one bit, in fact, it has helped him. Look at the polls, to this day even with letting out that murderer to go kill again his poll numbers are STILL high

FOX's ratings will benefit, and so will Sarah.
She's not getting her own show, and will be acting in the same capacity as Ann Coulter or Dick Morris-contributory only.
This is very good exposure for her. I for one think it's a great idea.

I don’t think she’s going to be running in 2012 and we all may have to live with that, unfortunately.

It’s a great move, not only brings in higher ratings for fox news whenever she appears, but she will also be stating her opinion to a much larger audience. We all know not everyone reads her facebook posts or knows anything about what she has been saying. This is great news for her. People who have a problem with this need to get a grip, who are they to say what she should do with her life, are they her mommy. Let Sarah do what is best for Sarah, she is a smart cookie, she knows exactly what she is doing!

I am politely going to disagree with you on this. There are a lot of democrats who do watch Fox & or open minded enough to listen to what she has to say, without the so called spin machine”s” working overtime to discredit her.

My family & I can not wait to see her on tv, and to run for national office.

That has to keep on being repeated here because some refuse to READ..they already jump to conclusions that she will be having her own show LOL. I wish people would just read before jumping to conclusions, oh well, what else is knew

I hope you got the right book - there is a spinoff titled "Going Rouge".

I would put the url but I already gave it a hit just finding out if what I had seen was true.

It is.

It's not a nice book to Sarah Palin.

"By appearing regularly on Fox, I affraid she’s going to pigion hole herself."

You affraid [sp]? Better that she "pigion hole" herself than you publicly corn-hole yourself by posting stupid, illiterate sh*t like this.

Go Sarah!

Good. Now she’ll be able to reach even more people as she defines and elucidates her beliefs as well as counter lies, smears and attacks.

I was hoping she’d stay “above” TV, and thereby seem more presidential, IMHO.

Those days of revving that perception are over, methinks.

We live in the MTV era, home of Short Attention Span Theater and the New York minute.

Print papers are dying off, and reading about yesterday's news and pontificating about it over a morning cup of coffee are things being relegated to the Fond Memories dust bin.

We just elected a president we don't know anything about (or at least didn't at the time of the election). We gave him a super-majority of his party in congress that ran on nebulous promises of "change" and "hope". Bread and circuses rule the consciousness of the masses now (thanks in no small part to our "educational establishment"), so keeping someone on the outside in the public eye at regularly close intervals makes sense for this potential candidate.

In spite of everything, she has a base, very dedicated, and it appears to be growing by the day.

This exposure can't possibly hurt her.

CA....

However, she may have done well by being a good example for other politicians. "It's okay to stand up for what you believe, you don't have to be corrupt to be a politician, etc. etc.".
