For some people, just a few inches of snow throws them into panic mode. So imagine what its like for 55 inches of snow! But according to reports at gather.com, the people of Fulton, New York, dont have to imagine at all as they really do have 55 inches of the stuff.
The snow began falling in Fulton on December 28th, and its been snowing there ever since. Green America Homes, recently reported 55 inches of snow in the Fulton, New York area. And according to reports, there is still more snow to come unfortunately.
With over four feet of snow in the area now, trucks and cars are just being buried. Salt trucks are working around the clock in Fulton. Do you live near the Fulton, New York area at all? If you do then what exactly is it like to have so much snow? Feel free to let us know
wow...55”...can’t imagine that..and I live in Colorado Springs.
I BLAME AL GORE!!!!
Yup. We’ve been snowblowing several times a day.
55 inches?
Lucky thing we have all that global warming around.
Just imagine what it would be otherwise.
According to Wikipedia, there are two towns in NY called Fulton. One is in Oswego County. The other is in Schohaire County. (Hmm, that’s a new one for me. I always thought that each city/town in a state had to have a unique name).
To which Fulton does this article refer?
God laughs at the hubris of Algore.
Oswego County.
I’m dreading the 3 to 6 inches of snow we are supposed to get tomorrow.
We get the double whammy with lake effect...Erie and Ontario.
Here, in SW WI, we used to get enough that the *ground* was actually 18”-24” higher by March, from compacted snow and ice. I can recall times in the 70s when the snow was at least 4’ by mid-January.
What we are experiencing, seems to me to be just a reprise of the weather 40 years ago. I do believe everything moves in cycles.
Don’t think they can’t make it more confusing. There’s a Fulton County too.
We lived in Fayetteville for the Blizzard of ‘66. We got about 5 ft. of snow in January and were snowed in for a full week. I remember digging out the front walk and having 8 ft to 10 ft. walls of snow on both sides. Luckily Dad paid to have the driveway plowed out. The biggest hardship for Mom and Dad was running out of cigarettes. My sister and I had to walk to our mailbox about a block away to pick up cigs dropped off for them!! Man, they were desperate.
I’m quite happy to enjoy California weather now. If I have to live with liberal lunacy, I may as well tolerate CA kooks instead of NY kooks.
"Once an adult, twice a child."
My mother said that often while in her ninties.
Do not panic. The global temperature anomoly for december was +0.3 degrees. For january it will still be positive. Everyone needs to stop complaining about the supposed cold in the northen hemisphere because we are still way above average!!
To that Fulton, I don’t go.
We received four feet of snow here in my town in Northern California one night back in 1969. Woke up one morning and there it was.
Lake effect...nothing unusual here. Impressive; but most people in that area are used to it.
The area in purple (may be dark blue, sorry, I'm color blind) is where Fulton and Oswego County are located.
My snowshoes are envious ;-) Good luck to all who live there. And feel free to send some over IL way...
