The Enemy Within

...As I watched the recent presidential campaign many things struck me as odd, but one in particular. Barack Obama enjoyed the support of the United Mine Workers Union. That in itself is not a big surprise as he had the support of every union as Democrat politicians usually have. The interesting part was when you factored in Obama’s comments regarding the future of coal:

I wonder what percentage of unionized mine workers voted for 0bama. If it is very high, then those people have no one to blame but themselves for losing their jobs.

I've always been skeptical of union members supposedly being "conservative" even though the union itself is liberal. If it was true, then why haven't more of these workers tried to decertify the unions that continue to screw them over? It happens in some places, why not in others?

Who said union leaders care about the Unites States? Why does this surprise anyone? These people have been indoctrinated their whole lives into believing the people they work for are just blood suckers.

The unions (specifically union leadership) that supported 0bama or for that matter 'Rats of the past all have the mindset that they will get the best 'deal' from the Democrat Party and if (in the case of the coal industry) they end up going bankrupt from either government interference or markets collapsing, it won't matter to them as long as "they get theirs" in the form of golden parachutes, gilt-edged severance packages, and screw the workers at the bottom of the food chain.

In the case of the AARP, those deluded seniors supporting 0bamaCare are little different from the doomed Jews in Nazi Germany who chose to collaborate with their oppressors in hopes of maybe 'cutting a better deal' or at least being the last ones to be shoved into the ovens.

It's sometimes hard to tell if such fools should be pitied or condemned as traitors for supporting such a fascist regime as exists in Washington today.

For Lenin the governmentalization of the trade unions was a long process of practical activity, of direct work in the organization of the national economy. He thought of the transformation of the unions into organs of state power as of a process which begins by participation in the government of the country and ends in the building up of new organs exclusively under the control of the trade unions. But why must the trade unions, in Lenin’s opinion, come to control the national economy? “Because,” Lenin replies, “the trade unions are mass organizations and the revolution is primarily the creation of the masses itself.” Lenin formulates this idea in the following words: “The trade unions become the principle builders of the new society because the builders of this society can be only the great masses, just as the builders of society during serfdom were made up of hundreds, just as the state under capitalism was built up by thousands and tens of thousands, just so can the present socialist revolution be accomplished only with the direct and active participation of tens of millions in the governing of the state.”

Be Afraid. As the dollar is allowed to fall...EVENTUALLY we will see a rise in manufacturing capacity and exports. Rahm Emmanual, David Axelrod, and Ben Bernanke all know this.

It's easy to understand, it's not the union workers that are supporting Obama it's the union bosses — the ones who are totally divorce from common sense, and get the top dollar union politburo jobs. The ones who hand out the political contributions.

How else do you explain the AARP, and their kill old people death panel support.

The simple fact is it is always been up to the people to protect themselves, and their freedom and liberty ... Read the history of the second amendment.

This article is confusing.

It starts by asking "who is the enemy within" and ends without any clarification of or answer to that question.

Everyone knows that voting blocs supported Obama to the detriment of their membership...that's not news.

I think many if not most union members are more conservative then the union’s leadership. Certainly more conservative than the staff members hired as administrators-most of whom are left-wing liberal arts majors from private schools or large public universities.

The reason they don’t decertify is best summarized by an old timer I worked with many years ago. “Even the worst union with corrupt leaders is better than no union at all”.

Well the old timer was wrong but he came into the work force as a young man straight out of the CCC camps in the middle 1930’s and landed his first full time job in a company that was unionized. He believed the union got him this job not the company.

The first man in the Flag picture is who the majority of those who voted on November 4, 2008 and said, via their votes, they wanted to lead them. That is what they wanted. That is what they got. They now have their savior. He will lead them to the promise land so they can live off the labors of their betters, they think. All the paths he directs them to lead the the slaughter house. They will learn this too late and will blame President Bush.

I know this because I overheard three of them in a restaurant at adjoining tables discussing how great and what a good job obama is doing and what a mess President Bush made when he was in office.

As I told a rabid union electrician several years ago, the only reason he loved the union, was because he could’nt hold a job on his own abilities.
Unions have long outlived thier usefulness. I believe they are a major cause of the down fall of this great nation.
Just my opinion. Thank God for right to work states.

While I agree that for the most part Unions today are evil, at one time they were not. They were needed. I don't care how you cut it, to be able to fire someone just because you can is not good business, but all companies used to do that, they would give work hours to relatives, make people stand around for hours waiting to unload trucks but only pay them for the time it took to unload, not the 6 hours spent waiting for the truck to show up.

Companies did many bad things to people working for them and so Unions were formed to combat the unfair conditions in which they were expected to work.

Using the old saw that people could go to work for someone else is BS because they were all the same. Unions forced non Union shops to treat their people better through fear of being Unionized.

Unions at one time were supposed to work the way our government is supposed to work: The workers were the governing faction, but that changed.

The mob gained control of Unions, things got out of hand and we ended up with Unions like the long shore mans Union and the Auto workers.

Industry has only themselves to blame for what happened with Unions, had they treated people fairly no worker in their right mind would have ever voted to certify a Union.

What young people see today and what the situation was when Unions gained a foothold are vastly different situations.
