Yeah...it's Crap!

One Congress is not bound by the actions of a previous Congress.

No Congress can restrict what any other one does. That's why ten year budget projections are a total joke.

“The Reid bill declares on page 1020 that the Independent Medicare Advisory Board cannot be repealed by future Congresses.”

What's the problem? Defund the board, make it necessary to gain Congressional approval for members of the board, and assign a negative salary to its members. If the board has zero budget, no members, and anyone foolish enough to volunteer has to pay $100,000 per year for the privilege, its existence won't matter.

The electorate was warned don’t put the far left in control of the entire government. Many people supposedly in the center, and even rightward leaners, scoffed and said no it was fine. They believed what they wanted to believe, and rejected the idea that tyranny could come to America. Now we all suffer the consequences.

This is tyranny of the majority.. A system of repeal MUST always exist within a democracy..

Viola! Problem solved.

And just what does a medium-sized member of the violin family of instruments have to do the problem?

If enough people have the will, anything can be repealed. Anything.

What should we do with Reid and his girlfriend Pelosi after the revolution?

Congress cannot bind a future Congress except by constitutional amendment. All a future Congress has to do is pass legislation deleting that language. Viola! Problem solved.

Totally legally correct (the possible effect of treaties notwithstanding)

They may try to make it so under some concept of a financial obligation, but if arguing against this law before the SCOTUS, I would use this phrase as an example of how the entire bill is flawed.

This also says to me that the bill was written by policy wonks, not experienced lawyers.

Remember, in 2000+ pages, I'm sure we can find something to pound the Constitutional podium about!

local contact and fax numbers for Senators (demwits)

Email them but the Phone is the best route.

Remind them that obamanationcare effects EVERY ONE!

VA cuts, retired Military..Tri Care for Life (nearly $5,000 in new fees) 8% cut in Medicare, increased premiums, 15% cut to nursing homes and for Pete's sake why are we creating a new tax on special needs kids? And why do we need 111 NEW federal agencies to 'oversee' obamnationcare? Oh, that is how he is 'growing' jobs!

Yeah, this is BS. No congress can write a mandate that future congresses cannot overturn.

I suppose it would depend on how hugh and series the problem was.

Please pardon my sporadic dyslexia.

So is Harry going to sue when he’s out of office and congress repeals it?

Yeah, this is BS. No congress can write a mandate that future congresses cannot overturn.

They can but only if it is a constitutional amendment, but that would require a 2/3'rds super majority in both the house and senate and ratification by 3/4'ths of the states.
