Why they fell for the global warming hoax

They called us Global Warming Holocaust Deniers — sneered at us, snarked at us, and snubbed us.

None of them bothered to read “The Emperor’s New Clothes.”

I have no time for paybacks or saying I told you so.

But pay attention to why they fell for this billion-dollar hoax which almost became a trillion-dollar tragedy.

1. The pseudo-intellectuals fell for it because none of them ever cracked a science book. 2. The policy wonks fell for it because it gave the government more control. 3. The bleeding hearts fell for it because they always want to save the Earth. 4. The communists fell for it because it portrayed capitalists as destroying the Earth to make money. 5. The capitalists fell for it because they saw a new way to make money. 6. The Hollywood crowd fell for it because it made their pampered lives seem to have a meaning and purpose. 7. The newspapers fell for it because it was new. 8. The teachers fell for it because it was a new thing to teach the children to teach their parents. 9. The children fell for it because they wanted to show how well they are doing in school. 10. The parents fell for it because they wanted their children were doing so well in school and they wanted to be supportive. 11. The utility companies fell or it because they can raise rates. 12. The Nobel Peace Prize committee fell for it because Al Gore should have won in 2000. 13. The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences fell for it because Al Gore should have won in 2000. 14. The National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences (Grammys) fell for it because Al Gore should have won in 2000. 15. The 30,000 scientists fell for it because while it was not in their field of study, they wanted to be supportive of science.

The only people who didn’t fall for it were we mouth-breathing, Bible-thumping, beer-guzzling, cousin-humping, baby-bumping, overfed, inbred, illiterate, gun-clinging, buck-toothed, trailer-park-living, truck-driving, ATV riding, Wal-mart shopping, knuckle-dragging, military-supporting, ain’t-recycling, patriotic, homophobic, xenophobic, sexist, racist hillbillies with cooties.

Don’t make the mistake that the ‘warmers’ fell for anything. They knew and have consistently known that their new mantra is just a shill for collective communism and control of the masses to accrue wealth and power. Any reasonable human being could not have chosen this crusade otherwise.

15. The 30,000 scientists fell for it because while it was not in their field of study, they wanted to be supportive of science.

...and, there was lots of easy money to be had from various private and government grants by signing on to the AGW gravy train.

The hoax appeals to the three motivating forces every good salesman tries to work into a pitch: pride, greed and fear.

I recited this to some coworkers in 2000 as our dot-com was going down in a flurry of worthlessness.

(Assume some version of a British accent) “Once upon a time two swindlers came to visit the king. They held up their hands like this (raise hands) and said ‘Your Majesty, this is a magic suit of clothes. Naturally since you are so very wise and intelligent you can see how beautiful it is, but to a fool it is absolutely invisible.’”

I resemble some of the above but fortunately not all.

I hope you dont mind but I've cleaned it up a bit:

1. The pseudo-intellectuals fell for it because none of them ever cracked a science book.
2. The policy wonks fell for it because it gave the government more control.
3. The bleeding hearts fell for it because they always want to save the Earth.
4. The communists fell for it because it portrayed capitalists as destroying the Earth and its a way to extort money from rich Western countries.
12. The Nobel Peace Prize committee fell for it because they feel that Al Gore should have won in 2000.
13. The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences fell for it because they feel that Al Gore should have won in 2000.
14. The National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences (Grammys) fell for it because they feel that Al Gore should have won in 2000.

They fell for it because they think that they are more powerful then they are.

If you have a inflated opinion of yourself you tend to think that you can control things on a larger scale then is possible.

I don't fit that description and I didn't fall for it.

Most of the “they” referred to in this blog post never “fell” for anything... they actively perpetrated (and perpetuated) the hoax because it 1.) gave meaning - - a “cause” - - to their meaningless lives, 2.) because they stood to make a lot of money from it, or 3.) because it aided the expansion of big government, which in turn aided their political party (Democrat).

These animals “fell” for the hoax the way a teeange boy believes the hooker who tells him what a great lover he is.

This is only the two punch in a one-two environmental scare punch tactic. The first was the big cancer scare of the late 1960's/early 1970's that had as its result the banning of DDT and the establishment of the EPA.

From an earlier posting:
Given
1. that colder weather results in a lot more sickness and death than warmer weather,
2. that lack of air-conditioning results in heat deaths among the sick and elderly and a decreased quality of life for almost everyone else,
3. that people who are not living as drug addicts or alcoholics under a bridge live in a human environment that could not exist without a lot of easily obtainable, relatively inexpensive energy,
4. that EPA regulations on CO2 will necessarily result in a dramatic increase in the cost of anything that depends on a process that produces CO2,
5. and that EPA regulations on CO2 aren't based on anything more than a political agenda,
doesn't it follow that
1. to the extent that people don't cut back on their energy use they will necessarily become poorer in other material ways and to the extent that they do they will necessarily endanger their health, safety, and comfort in cold weather,
2. they will do the same in hot weather,
3. their human environment (including jobs) will be endangered,
4. the EPA, simply by making a ruling, is bringing demonstrable harm to hundreds of millions of people by attacking, through what amounts to a vast tax increase, the foundation of their human environment on the pretext that it will prevent them from suffering some unproven future danger from their physical environment,
5. and that the EPA's move in this regard is virtually identical in method (ignoring the science, making arbitrary decisions) and purpose (making decisions to remake American society for political purposes) to what it did in the person of William Ruckelshaus over DDT and to what others did through the big cancer scare to create the EPA to begin with (see The Apocalyptics: Cancer and the Big Lie, How Environmental Politics Controls What We Know About Cancer by Edith Efron, this included scientific fraud, scare tactics to increase federal money spent on trying to stave off what turned out to be a hoax, biased scientists and huckster politicians, such as Paul Ehrlich, Barry Commoner, Rene Dubos, and George Wald, using their positions to push their agenda)?
Because of this, Obama and the other global warmists/climate hysterics are preparing to do to the USA what Ruckelshaus did to Africa and other developing nations.

It seems as though Obama/Lisa Jackson's plans for CO2 regulation should have to pass an environmental impact study that demonstrates that its purported benefits must outweigh its costs on the American public. They shouldn't be permitted to get away with the legacy of sickness, poverty, and death that William Ruckelshaus has visited upon the world by his arbitrary anti-DDT favor to environmental extremists.

I mean, which business would be allowed to do something with as much impact on the human environment without extensive proof that it wouldn't screw us all over? And the government passes all sorts of crap onto individuals and businesses without any sort of requirement to justify that their actions will not harm the human environment.

If Congress faced the same barriers to enacting its fantasies as the pharmaceutical industry faced from the FDA in moving to market a new product, we would be blessedly free of both taxes and interference. How about a law called the Legal Anti-proliferation Act that requires Congress to rescind at least two laws for each that they enact until they reach the number of federal statutes in place in 1787 when the Constitution was ratified and gives them a deadline of ten years to do it, limits their legislative time in office to 3 months of the year, the rest of the time being reserved for studying and removing old laws, and requires them to sign a personal indemnity agreement making them and their heirs financially responsible for any bad results of their legislation? They could agree that their heirs, in the event of some unforeseen disaster or negative outcome because of their boneheaded legislative stupidity, could go free if they agree to forfeit their lives.
