Meredith Shiner and I write today on the GOP's persistent trouble recruiting, retaining and attracting women, particularly in the House.
The exception seems to be among hard core conservatives, with Reps. Michele Bachmann (R-Minn.) and Virginia Foxx (R-NC), emerging as populist folk heroes on the right.
But that doesn't necessarily make them appealing to independent and moderate women, says Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D-Fla.), herself a rising star among a larger class of Democratic women.
Asked about Foxx and Bachmann, Wasserman Schultz, blasted away:
This is a party that doesnt respect women, a party that doesnt believe women are equal to men, she told POLITICO. I dont think [Bachmann and Foxx] attract women to their party, she said.
I think they repulse women.
But Wasserman-Schultz likes them.
“This is a party that doesnt respect women, a party that doesnt believe women are equal to men, she told POLITICO.”
Umm...republicans have powerful, smart, influential women leading the way. Where are such women in the democrat party? Wasserman may not understand that exercising power and influence aren’t equivalent to whining, throwing out insults, and attacking the opponent with harrangues of a personal nature. But given what I’ve seen of her, I’m not surprised that Wasserman woman is a star in the dem party.
Nice representatives, Florida - Wasserman and Alan Grayson -you must be very proud.
Hey guys, lets cede the jewish princess vote to the Dems and call it a day. This wasserman chick is scary to look at, imagine what its like to live with her? Ouch. Screwing her must be like riding an english racer over railroad ties, and the worst part you’d have to look at her the whole time.
ROFLMAO!
Double brown bagger....
I don’t know of any dems that make the grade.
Fugly is too good for any of them.
Republican women make make dems look really bad!
Repulican women make great leaders.
If she wasn't such a shrew, she'd be pretty decent looking.
Trouble is, she's a shrew ... and that just comes shining through and wreck the whole deal.
LOL - I would love to know what she thinks of Sarah Palin??
Michelle Bachman is the best: Charming, womanly, knowledgable and another happy warrior.
Wasserman Schultz: Brittle, feminazi, talking points, and obviously mean spirited.

Debbie Wasserman Schultz (born September 27, 1966) is a Florida Democrat elected to the United States House of Representatives in 2004, representing Florida’s 20th congressional district. The district includes portions of Broward and Miami-Dade counties. She was born in Forest Hills, Queens in New York City and grew up on Long Island. She currently lives in Weston outside Fort Lauderdale. She is a mother of three and is married to Steve Schultz. She endorsed Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton for her party’s 2008 presidential nomination. Once Senator Barack Obama became the presumptive Democratic nominee, she endorsed him and seconded his nomination at the 2008 Democratic National Convention.
Wasserman Schultz is pro-choice, pro-gun control and pro-gay rights, and an active member of the National Jewish Democratic Council, Planned Parenthood and Hadassah.
As an older friend once said: “you can’t make silk out of a sow’s ear.”
Schultz IS an expert on repulsive women...
As are all Rat chicks. When the hottest chick in your caucus is Barney Frank...you got problems.
BTW - Where does the Libewal Democwat - Wassewman Shulz get her Elmer Fudd accent from?
Welcome to Rush’s “undeniable truth #35”, to the effect that the purpose of NOW is to grant ugly women attention, not otherwise afforded them.
If ever there was a repulsive woman, it is Debbie. Everytime I see her on TV, I immediately switch channels, can’t stand the sight of her.
We should have some paper bags made, with democrat donkeys printed (upside down) on the sides!
Enough said ———pictures worth as many words as one can think of
During the debate on Saturday, I was so impressed with the number of women on the conservative side. Granted there were more women on the Dem/lib/abort side, but that is definitely changing.
As more women on the pro-family, pro-life side step up to the legislative plate the tide will turn. As in many things, the silent majority is silent no more.
...you could always flip her over and tape a Playboy centerfold to her back.
Wasserman reminds me of a song...
WALKS LIKE A WOMAN BUT TALKS LIKE A MAN...
That might work on a dark night.
Makes me think of one of my favorite John Wayne quotes.
"Lifes hard... Its even harder when you're stupid."
