There is still confusion over whether Govenor Palin supports amnesty for illegal aliens.
In this article read at Newsbusters, Palin does support a "pathway to citizenship" for illegal aliens.
But what is not clear is if she supports a pathway to citizenship only "after" they return to their country of origin. And then, get in the back of the line to come to America "legally" for citizenship.
Or, if she supports a pathway to citizenship while illegals are still here. Without first requiring them to return to there country of origin.
Does anyone have an answer to that question?
Excerpt from Newsbusters:
"So, what else is in the Hotair story? Let's take a look:
"Do you then favor an amnesty for the 12 or 13 million undocumented immigrants?"
Palin: "No, I do not. I do not. Not total amnesty. You know, people have got to follow the rules."
"Looks like Governor Palin doesn't support amnesty."
"To clarify, so you support a path to citizenship for undocumented immigrants? "
Palin: "I do because I understand why people would want to be in America. To seek the safety and prosperity, the opportunities, the health that is here. It is so important that yes, people follow the rules so that people can be treated equally and fairly in this country."

Well, Im a proud Hunterite...
And I aint going away..”
Strange how the blind die hard Palin supporters seem to run away when you ask them to back up their comments with proof though, isn’t it?

Perhaps someone at Team Sarah can help you, surely someone there keeps track of her Facebook statements.
“Perhaps someone at Team Sarah can help you, surely someone there keeps track of her Facebook statements.”
Perhaps you could bother to back up YOUR own statements? I’ve done the searching and posting to try to find out. Your turn!
You said: “From her own statements about amnesty since the election, she has shown me she thinks like me. No amnesty to people who come here illegally.”http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/bloggers/2377799/posts?page=51#51
Let’s see them.
I’ll be the first person to say I don’t support her if I see one statement made after the fingerprints of McCain’s influence were gone that says she supports amnesty. Until then everything I have seen has said otherwise. If you are not satisfied keep asking the people who should know. I don’t work for her. I don’t own a database on her, I have paid attention to what she has written since then and that has been fine.
I never said I would prove it to you. All I’ve said is that she has made statements which I have read on facebook. Do your own homework. If you subscribe to her on facebook, you’ll learn more about how she thinks as well. Vague quotes about the drivers’ licenses reported by other people would not satisfy me either. Just as I said before, you need to learn to go to the source.
But I’m beginning to doubt that is going to happen. You’d much rather spend your time with people to do the work for you.
I actually agree with you. These interviews were about her supporting the McCain ticket and being a good soldier. People really need to calm down and stop jumping on every word, phrase or interview Republicans give.
Funny how the Univision guy reveals the "horrors" of the Bush anti-illegal policies in his questioning.
Its plain she is against Illegal immigration in the excerpt.
Right now she seems to be trying to stay away from anything but the Book Tour. Too bad for the leftymedia, they ain’t gonna catch her.
Would anyone support an alternative punishment to deportment? I have been thinking about this and I think a comprehensive immigration bill that includes deportation, but does not rely solely on deportation may be worth considering. I was thinking that the Federal Government could start giving tax breaks to companies that comply with strict citizen ship verification, and the take breaks would be equal to the saving that companies gain by hiring illegals. Another alternative would be to enact a form of indentured servitude; if you are an illegal you can apply for a $200,000 bond and each month you would have to pay on that bond, until it was payed off and then you would then get to apply for full citizenship. The last alternative would be military service. These are some ideas, because I don’t think you are ever going to find enough politician that will go with a full blown deportation strategy. I personally don’t disapprove of a full blown deportation strategy, but not even Ronald Reagan did that. Most of you wouldn’t vote for him today either,if you are honest with yourselves.
Personally I think to make immigration the #1 issue would be a mistake. To insist on having Sarah say, I will send every single one of them home in my first term, would be a loser of an issue.
Sarah will do all the right things if elected! Lets get her elected first!
I agree with you. Too many people here will only be happy if a candidate openly proposes to load every illegal on to cattle cars (the Hispanic solution). Sarah is a common sense conservative so I think her approach would be more like what I suggested in my earlier post. I did forget to say that I believe Sarah Palin would get a wall built on the southern border.
Palin must totally reject amnesty in a very public display or as far as this FReeper is concerned she doesn’t exist.
“Anything short of enforcing the law, which is deporting those here illegally, is amnesty.
Ive watched southern California be transformed from American suburbia into a province of Mexico in all but name. Entire neighborhoods, in fact entire towns, change completely in a remarkably short amount of time. Older Americans leave these neighborhoods for areas where English is still spoken. Young Americans cease moving into these neighborhoods because they turn into alien places with bad schools and gangs.”
I lived in California from 1976-2006. I left because it was becoming a third world hell hole. Amensty is far worse than Obamacare and crap n trade combined!
Try being in any other country illegaly, see if they’ll waste more than one bullet extending a generous welcome to you

You’re absolutely right. Obamacare and Cap & Trade can be reversed. But once you alter the country’s demographics and traditions through mass 3rd world immigration there is no going back.
This issue is not going away for her and its troubling.
