6 Days ago, Newt said Conservatives got excited in this race over "misinformation"

Newt remaining dug-in has caused a reaction...

newt.org Sunday, November 01, 2009 5:52 PM

Stick a fork in it Newt, you're done. Oh yeah, and how do I unsubscribe to your e-mails as I'm no longer interested in anything you have to say after this fiasco you helped create? Sunday, November 01, 2009 5:42 PM

What we need are real conservatives to lead this country. If you make an attempt in 2012, I will steadfastly oppose you...we don't need Rhinos in office anymore.... Sunday, November 01, 2009 5:27 PM

Newt, I want to hear a "mea culpa" from you. Just as you supported Arlen Specter over the real conservative, Toomey, in Pennsylvania, NOW you supported the RINO in NY 23rd and SHE TOO spit in our face. Are you one of the RINO's or just stupid? Sunday, November 01, 2009 5:20 PM Enjoy retirement Newt. Sunday, November 01, 2009 5:09 PM

Newt, you never really did speak for conservatives. Now, please just go away. Forever. Sunday, November 01, 2009 5:02 PM

Now follow her lead and leave OUR party. Oh, and forget about 2012 you RINO jerk. Sunday, November 01, 2009 4:59 PM

Hey, Mr. Gingrich, got any good football picks you'd like to share ?How about helping me out with my Fantasy Football ?Certainly a person with your political prowess and keen eye can pick a winner every time. Sunday, November 01, 2009 4:37 PM

Are you going to at least offer refunds to the people who have bought your books? You had to go on Hannity and apologize for not seeing Obama has the hardcore liberal he is until everyone else did. How many people besides Hannity could see what you couldn't and your supposed to have vision? You made Rush Limbaugh a honorary congressman back in the days of the Republican revolution then once you thought you didn't need him anymore to spread the word, you dismissed him as a entertainer and insulted him, the same way you did all the conservatives who endorsed Hoffman before you grew a spine.Don't go on a apology tour Newt I'm sick of hearing you, just sit on a couch in D.C. talking to Pelosi about your problems instead. Sunday, November 01, 2009 4:35 PM

In case you hadn't noticed Newt...You pissed a bunch of people off. Nice job!Conservative1st

I was under the impression that Scozzafava had "suspended" her campaign before Newt switched to Hoffman.

That is correct.

Gingrich tweets Hoffman endorsement”

This is what you said, and I quote:
“After initially supporting democrat party mole Scuzzy, Newt then changed his support to Doug Hoffman, forcing Scuzzy out of the race””

You were trying to imply that Scozzafaza got out of the race because Newt Gingrich endorsed Hoffman.
That is patently false.
Gingrich only endorsed Hoffman after Scozzafava had ALREADY quit. Gingrich had absolutely nothing to do with Scozzafava quiting. Gingrich's "endorsement" is too little, too late. He has made himself irrelevant.

Do you really believe that, or are you Newt's mom trying to salvage something here? I know memories are short, but jeez...

That said, I'm not going to pile on the guy for being in the wrong this time. As long as he doesn't make too much of a habit of being on the wrong side.

Right. But he does make it a habit.

He is getting hit so hard that I couldn't even sign up to add my piece of mind! I don't feel sorry for Newt, he asked for this, "arrogance goeth before a fall"!

This will be good for him, if he realizes that he doesn't have a monopoly on brains in the party.

There was a time- going back to that ghastly Clinton plague-- when I'd call my wife over to hear Newt's floor speeches on C-Span.

He was the only member of the Stupid Party with a plan to take back the house, not content to play second fiddle, and he was worth listening to.

But I'm afraid all that changed after the all-too-brief triumph in 1994, and he sort of went to the dogs.

It's a pity, but he's so yesterday now, it's not funny.

Like you, I went to read the comments on his site, and they are brutal- and more so for being true.

Is that really the way you think it happened?

Hey Newt, IMHO you had a good run so please stop embarrassing yourself.

If I were you I would pay close attention to old Vernon Jordon being seen around town with none other than your sweetie Callistra. Callistra could shut you down with all that she knows, big bucks at stake here Newty, especially with Vernon’s help.

The marxists need to hear the message that they will not take over this nation without a fight, even if they are in the majority. This is where protecting and defending the Constitution comes into play. If we are going to call ourselves republicans it is time to live up to all that title means, and rally around the Constitution.

Honor the Constitution, or call yourself something else! Don't bend staple or fold it, twist it or warp it, obey it!

I read Newt’s dopey comments today and I stand corrected for any erroneous lame defense of Gingrich I made earlier. He just lost a lot of credibility.

“Newt then changed his support to Doug Hoffman, forcing Scuzzy out of the race.”

You have absolutely no idea what you are talking about. Is that you, Newt? Lying like hell doesn’t go over well with people who actually DO know what is going on.

I have long admired Newt, and have stood up for him many a time. Even have some of his books. But something is different now about him and it just saddens me that what he once offered did in fact end 40 years of conservatives wandering in the proverbial wilderness... And now Newt appears to want to lead the charge to return forever to the wilderness.

And it sure is strange that Sarah out of that vast wilderness is a voice of reason that speaks to what was a former Newt.

I am just sad to watch this transformation. And yet relieved there is a Sarah out there that make the GOP men's teeth chatter.

Thanks for proving our point.

You said in #5: "Anti-Newt sentiment has some definite democrat party disruptor troll component. After initially supporting democrat party mole Scuzzy, Newt then changed his support to Doug Hoffman, forcing Scuzzy out of the race."

The problem with that little bit of revisionist history is shown at the link you posted in #11:

"After learning his initial pick, Republican candidate Dede Scozzafava, had bowed out of the race, this morning, Gingrich tweeted that he was now supporting Hoffman, who is virtually tied with Democratic candidate Bill Owens in preliminary polls."

Or could you explain how Gingrich endorsing Hoffman AFTER Scuzzy dropped out of the race could be the thing that forced her to drop out, as you claimed in #5?

PS Hoffman is up by 17 points now. I guess in the SRM world that The Hill lives in, that's "virtually tied." (Not attributing this SRM spin to you, just pointing it out.)

Sorry for piling on, then.

One sign of a conservative: They can admit mistakes. Lord knows I’ve been caught being wrong before in Freeper Land. Also note you didn’t try to spin your way out of this, either. Well done, credibility +++++!
