"It's true. I am Balloon Man."
Announcement postponed until 7 pm local time:

An interesting tidbit:
It was not the first time someone from the Heenes’ home has dialed 911. A Colorado sheriff’s deputy responded to a 911 hang-up in February at the home, hearing a man yelling and noticing Mayumi Heene had a mark on her cheek and broken blood vessels in her left eye. She said it was because of a problem with her contacts.
Richard Heene said he was yelling because his children stayed up past their bedtime. The husband and wife said nothing had happened, and the deputy concluded he did not have probable cause to make an arrest.
“But we DID find Jimmy Hoffa in the attic!”
Good Grief, he even spreads his leg to let it out. What a wimp, it was barely a squeaker.
You summed it up perfectly. Normally i wouldn’t care much what people like this do except for the tremendous waste of resources and the number of people who were praying their hearts out and even crying at the thought of a little boy suffocating or freezing to death or plunging to his death........and all the while the whole family was putting on a show. The little brother hiding in an attic. The parents pretending to freak out. One of the older brothers continually lying to the police about having seen his brother crawl into the balloon. If this family ends up being rewarded for their little stunt then God help us because that would really say a lot about our society and where we are heading.
My friend said it so well- “The whole thing was absolutely despicable. The whole reality show genre has gone from being a hoot, to a desperate way for pathetic people to get their 15 minutes. Since deviancy has been so dumbed down, some of these people will just get more and more outrageous as another way to grab the jaded short attention span of the average tv viewer.”
If it a hoax, make them pay for all the resources that was put on alert. They activated the USAF SAR center in FLA and that is no small thing. Not to mention all the local Fire dept, police depts, SAR teams and what not. SHould add up to a cool million.
Yes, that’s exactly what it is. Deviancy on display for fame and fortune. But it started before the reality shows, going back to Geraldo, Oprah, etc, back when it was a race to see who could dig up the lowest guests with the most shocking stories to tell. And of course who knows how many of those stories were made up just to have their 15 minutes of fame and a nice check for appearing on the show.
balloonhead dad asked for questions from the press to be placed in a box undoubtedly so he can prep his “stupid lil brat who blew his entire plan”
let’s not forget there were numerous tethers that just untethered themselves for no apparent reason
He can pick and choose what makes “good press”. I think the media should simply “turn him off”.

Yes, i’m not quite clear on that though. Is their story that the tethers were supposed to be tied but someone forgot to tie them (or didn’t tie them properly) and that is why the father was yelling and cursing after it flew away? Whatever the story might be, it makes no sense for the father not to have checked the tethers to make sure everything was set up correctly before the big experiment.
Upon further reflection i should amend something i wrote earlier. If it turns out the older brother’s story is that the younger brother crawled into the balloon earlier in the day, then perhaps it could be argued he wasn’t lying to the police, he just didn’t realize that Falcon had left the balloon and went up to the attic to hide. Thus that could be said to what led to the parents not searching the house thoroughly, for they believed their son when he said that Falcon had been in the balloon.
Having conceded those points i still don’t believe the story is any more likely, only that the script they were following was not as amateurish as it first seemed to be.
A million volts at extremely low amperage is very possible. Think 2.7 million volt stun gun running off a 9V battery. Or the Tesla coil at the science museum. Sort of a static electricity steering system.
Balloon dad is a space alien, POTUS is an illegal alien.
How do you know that 0bamanation is not a Klingon?
Even if he were a Klingon, Klingons would say he was no Klingon: He has no honor.
And he is still in this country illegally.
A hard-nosed prosecutor could start tossing some serious stuff at him.
False police report (call to 911)
Reckless endangerment (of rescue crews)
Conspiracy to defraud investigators
Obstruction of justice
just for starters... the guy is a true whack job. He oughta go into rehab right away, that would lend some credibility to his “I was out of my FN mind” defense.
