God bless the watermen, their quest for the crab has made my life so much better!

My favorite way to eat crabmeat is with an old wooden mallet, plenty of Old Bay, and some Natty Boh on the side...

Sounds good to me...why do some freepers go berserk about vanity postings “in topic” and how this is not a vanity posting.

“Why was this posted here?

Because people appreciate others sharing ALL sorts of knowledge here at FR. I for one, value this forum for the allowance of these types of postings.”

I agree. It is nice to see something interesting to break the
politics.
I welcome more of these post.
I look forward to trying the dish.

Thanks :)
There was a crab on my porch a few nights ago, but I think the cats got him.

I live on a beach, and will get my girlfriend to buy us some fresh crabs this week.

I’ve honesty never seen a recipe posted here before

You must be new here, recipes are quite common on FR, usually one or two every week, sometimes one recipe will jump start a feeding frenzy(so to speak)of recipes. Good fun

To be honest, this doesn’t sound like a good combination, chicken and crab meat together.

I reminds me of the time we left beef and fish together in the freezer too long. The beef became fishy tasting and we threw it all out.

Take a look at the following and you find this poster pimping a blog with recipes, etc. among other varied articles. The main thing is that very little info is ever posted thus the need to give the blog a hit. Also you find they pimp their blog but most will never give a clickable link on their blog to FreeRepublic.com. Kinda one way in my opinion.

Because somebody decided to come up for air. Not everything has to be a rage against the machine. It’s nice to see that someone is thinking about how to tend to their family. As usual, rather than opening the complaint department sometimes it is better to just drive on by.

...right out of the crab...

That's the way to go. Growing up on the other coast (Oregon) we had Dungeness crab aplenty. Just a short walk to the docks & at high tide we'd bring home all we wanted.

The problem with so many crab recipes is the crab gets overcooked and the wonderful flavor is gone - then you might as well be eating that fake whitefish stuff (and why they do that I dunno, the whitefish is better as, well, whitefish).

Oh I will allow that chicken, just old enough to be a wee bit on the pungent side, makes excellent crab BAIT.

a feeding frenzy

Oh yeah, especially when the South & Midwest checks in and starts throwing around hog meat. Dang there's some folks here that can crank out some great food porn!
