This is a phenominal video. Would not have believed it unless I had seen it. Makes me want to take a trip over there and spend some time with these old boys to experience it in person.
HUNTING WOLVES WITH GOLDEN EAGLES IN MONGOLIA
Big birds those. Wouldn't want a couple of those sic'ed on me I will tell you. Look at the size of those talons.
Looks like in many cases they go after the throat and then hold them there...and in a couple of cases when it looked like the wolf might get the upper hand...another Eagle quickly put an end to that.

Freakin’ COOL!
One of the times the wolf started to get the better of the eagle
a back-up bird engages and saves the day! Awesome.

There are some ranchers out in Montana on the phone right now to Mongolia!

Ever since I heard a Mongolian doing throat singing at a local venue, I’ve been hooked in studying Mongolian culture. It is fascinating. Thanks for the video.

Some of those wolves were pretty big animals. Quite a few were about the size of coyotes...but a couple were large.
I believe many times the eagle is catching the wolf by the throat and youy can see the wolf trying to bit at or shake off the eagle, but it just holds the wolf off while it keep hold of its throat.
Truly an amazing thing to watch.

They do...but these birds are huge, and their talons are also large and very strong. If those talons can strike at the wolf's throat...it's going to be all over.
A pack of wolves would be another matter.

~~WOW!!~~
Well I never!!! Whoda thunk?? What are we talkin here, a 25lb bird against a 60 - 70lb wolf? Bird of prey is an apt description for these talented critters. Or raptors, which sounds cooler. ;^)

Amazing indeed.
Those birds can’t weigh more than 15-20 pounds against
a wolf weighing 60-80 pounds. That’s pretty neat.
I’d like to spend a few days in camp with those guys!

See the link in post number 9. It describes the way they go about it.

Those are wolf pups mostly, a full grown wolf would shred oen of those birds to pieces ...

This is hard for me to watch. (eventhough I’m a hunter.)
I just have a great deal of respect and admiration for both these creatures.
Being in Idaho, are these animals natural enemies?

Wow! That is amazing. did you watch the video where the golden eagles would drag a goat off a cliff? There was one scene where an eagle dragged it off a cliff and then flew to it’s nest with the goat in it’s talons.

I'm open to new ways to hunt.
I've pretty much got the Texas Method down.
