Most Likely Dems To Jump To GOP? (Vanity)
Me | 8/21/09 | Ocarterma

As we all know by now, Arlen Specter (rino PA) jumped to his true home, the Democratic party this year. One supposes he did what he felt he needed to do to survive politically (doesn't look like his plan worked).

My question to all of you is who are the Democrats most likely to jump the sinking 'rat ship to the GOP in the coming months as Cpt. Barack stirs the USS Obamatitanic into that huge iceberg called the 2010 election?

I think 2 Texans could be on that list: Blue Dog Reps Lloyd Doggett and/or Chet Edwards

Doggett and Edwards are true believers in what EMK calls “the dream.” No switches possible there.

That happened in 1994

And we lost the momentum Newt Gingrich gave us by electing a bunch of RINO’s

As long as the ACORNs, the SEIU and the Black Panthers are running our “elections,” I don’t think we’ll see any ‘RATS jump ship.

That wasn’t really the problem. The “Class of ‘94” was by and large conservative. It was their (over)stay in Washington plus the elections that followed that ruined what was started in ‘94.

McCain jumped a missed, he’s in the water with a raft and Lindsey Graham is holding on to him for dear life!

I’ve wondered about this. But it doesn’t make any sense unless enough jump to switch control of the House - which makes unlikely to the nth degree.

Hopefully none. We don’t need more opportunisitic liberals, we have enough in the GOP as it is.

With the growing popularity of the Tea Parties and Town Hall meetings I think it just might be possible to start a nationwide campaign urging all conservatives, independents and "eyes open" democrats to join together and vote against any and every incumbent in congress in 2010.

There could be no greater service to America than to turn out the people who have put us where we are.

I know some people will say, "I love my republican". But, we need to look at the big picture and send a messager to every person who thinks of runniong in the future. BESIDES: the dems have a majority in both houses right now. If we could dump every incumbent up for election which is all of the house and about 1/3 of the Senate, we would reverse the majorities.

We lost the momentum by allowing Clinton to win the “shutting down government” argument, as if that were a bad thing. If Newt hadn’t blinked, the people would have quickly realized that they didn’t need government. After that, they couldn’t pass crap.

I don't expect any 'rats to defect. Not this time around. 2012, maybe, if Obama continues to implode and scorch the earth for fellow rats.

That's right. No one jumps into a minority party. If GOP can make it close, like razor thin, in 2010, then we might see some action in 2012.

Do you know what your strategy will result in: More Democrats because there will be more conservative republicans voting against conservative (or even more than not conservative) republicans than we WILL get Democrats to vote against liberal Democrats: FAIL! It’s better to pick the best candidates (on an individual basis) whatever party they are in, than for conservative republicans to vote against conservative republicans “because they’re the incumbents”..where’s the logic in that??
