Sarah Palin Is Pro Amnesty For Illegal Aliens - Univision Interview [Old news, 2008]
Diggers Realm ^ | October 24, 2008

Posted on 08/09/2009 6:56:23 PM PDT by RebelYell1990

Sarah Palin finally came out and made her stance on illegal immigration clear. She is pro amnesty for illegal aliens. In an interview to Univision she stated unequivocally that she is for a pathway to citizenship. In the same interview she says she is against amnesty for illegal aliens. Have your cake and eat it to, I think that is called.

Back on the same day that John McCain chose Sarah Palin as his vice-presidential candidate I started investigating Palin's past on illegal immigration. I invited others to send in anything they found. There was nothing on the record. Many did write in and said that Laura Ingraham said that one time she was talking to Palin and she said she was against amnesty. That was the only statement anywhere that could be found.

Now we know that she is against amnesty, all the while she is for it with a "pathway to citizenship".

You see this is what is wrong with these people. They think they can be on both sides of the issue at once and that simply isn't possible. You are either against amnesty or you are not. If you are for a pathway to citizenship for those who have illegally entered our country then you are pro-amnesty as you have virtually absolved them of all of their illegality.

People have bashed me for questioning "the Palin". They wrote in to say that obviously she is against illegal immigration. This was all wishful thinking and like so many other issues that the politicians have avoided, until they take a clear stance don't assume anything (and even then, if they're only saying it look at their record).

Sarah Palin is in lock-step with John McCain when it comes to amnesty for illegal aliens. Her answers are almost indistinguishable from McCain's, Obama's or even the most pro-illegal alien congressman in the house, Luis Gutierrez, for that matter.

Read it and weep.

Univision

Univision: Governor, let me ask you about immigration. How many undocumented immigrants are there in Alaska? Sarah Palin: I don't know, I don't know. That's a good question.

Univision: As governor, how do you deal with them? Do you think they all should be deported? Sarah Palin: There is no way that in the US we would roundup every illegal immigrant - there are about 12 million of the illegal immigrants - not only economically is that just an impossibility but that's not a humane way anyway to deal with the issue that we face with illegal immigration.

Univision: Do you then favor an amnesty for the 12 or 13 million undocumented immigrants? Sarah Palin: No, I do not. I do not. Not total amnesty. You know, people have got to follow the rules. They've got to follow the bar, and we have got to make sure that there is equal opportunity and those who are here legally should be first in line for services being provided and those opportunities that this great country provides.

Univision: To clarify, so you support a path to citizenship for undocumented immigrants? Sarah Palin: I do because I understand why people would want to be in America. To seek the safety and prosperity, the opportunities, the health that is here. It is so important that yes, people follow the rules so that people can be treated equally and fairly in this country.

...

Univision: What is your strategy? How are you planning to win the latino vote? Sarah Palin: I will tell you, I wish that there were more hours in the day so that we can get out there and to more of the communities with such the strong Latino vote that is out there and really tell them that we desire to work for them. We are asking them to hire us and let us work for them.

Sickening we can't find a real leader in this country who cares about Americans first.

Wireplay sounds a lot like one of those Atzlan or La Raza types that says European colonists were illegal immigrants. Is that really something we should hear from someone who claims to be a conservative

this article was from October of last year when her job was to quarterback for her potential boss?

Are you implying she disagreed with her running mate on one of the most threatening, violent, dangerous, and economically devastating issues facing America?

“Republicans want internment camps for illegals!”

Oops. No one was supposed to say that out loud. You are correct, however, this is exactly what will have to happen and exactly why it never will.

You've obviously confused me with someone else. I have 30+ years of political involvement including 12 years with the Republican Party of Orange County with time served on the Central Committee, 18 years with the San Diego County Republican Party and have held political office myself. That considered, and if I were into embarrassing myself as have you by drawing foolish and uneducated conclusions regarding the political experiences of others, I would conclude that it is you who are the political virgin though I would likely use the term political infant instead.

So save your insipid posts of clueless cant for someone who’s buying, noob. I am not.

You do realize that the founders of our country were British?

Most were born here, but of course they were British since they live in a British colony until they rebelled, won their independence, and founded the USA.

The history that led to the USA began about 175 years before the nation was actually founded. Most of the founders were born in the colonies.

Dude, the quotes in this article don’t match the title. Sarah didn’t say that she was for amnesty.

The title of this article that you posted is a lie.

And on which of my comments did you use to make that implication? My post where In said no illegals, no amnesty no compromise. Or was it the one wherein I sad this article is either BS or she has flipped?

Either way, your attack on me was unwarranted and should have been directed at someone who actually hates Sarah Palin as there is no shortage of them.

You don't have to round them all up. Operation Wetback proved that in 1954.

In California and Arizona and coordinated 1075 Border Patrol agents, along with state and local police agencies, to mount an aggressive crackdown, going as far as police sweeps of Mexican neighborhoods and random stops and ID checks of people in a region with many illegals.

750 agents targeted agricultural areas with a goal of 1000 apprehensions a day. By the end of July, over 50,000 illegal aliens were caught in the two states. The INS estimated that 488,000 illegal aliens left voluntarily for fear of being apprehended. By September, 80,000 illegal aliens had been taken into custody in Texas, and the INS estimates that 500,000 to 700,000 had left Texas on their own.

To discourage reentry, buses and trains took many deportees deep within Mexico before releasing them. Tens of thousands more were deported by two chartered ships, the Emancipation and the Mercurio. The ships ferried them from Port Isabel, Texas, to Veracruz, Mexico, more than 500 miles to the south. Some were taken as far as 1,000 miles.

So experience shows that for every illegal alien caught and deported almost 10 other criminals leave on their own. We could make the job even more efficient by replacing the random stops with agents stationed at hospitals, schools and utility offices checking IDs.

To really make it effective we also need a real crack down on criminal employers and others who harbor and aid the illegal aliens.

President Eisenhower made it work. All that's needed is another president who takes his oath of office seriously.

please dont drink and FReep.... sober up first.

I am actually reverse-engineering in hexadecimal right now which is a bit harder than freeping. Freeping just kills time in between challenges.

If you would like an example of crimes committed that are not misdemeanors, I am happy to provide one. How about drunk-driving (since you brought up drinking)? Have you ever gotten on the road (or any of the freepers here arguing against my logic) a little tipsy? Every tried pot BEFORE it was a misdemeanor? What about your taxes? Ever 'forgot' about something and declared it or not?

Finally, what you said is an ad hominum attack, another logical fallacy. Don't commit fallacies and freep. Logic can be your balm. Lots of examples here. Try to make an interpolation and cross the boundary.

Hey Draggy.

That poster may be for amnesty, but I'm not. And as I told you earlier, Sarah as quoted in this article, NEVER said that she was for amnesty.

Now if you have other quotes that show that Sarah is for amnesty, then by all means produce it. Else, you have proved nothing and this thread is just another antil Sarah BS thread.
