Governor Bill Richardson, may have been the Democratic favorite for president in 2008 had Obama and Clinton not run for president and he may have made a great Secretary of Commerce under the Obama Administration had he not been pressured to withdraw his name by federal investigators. Instead, he remains governor of the state of New Mexico which has a 46% high school drop-out rate. Dr. Veronica Garcia, New Mexicos Secretary of Education said that 40,000 students have

New Mexico list PING!
Gotta love this "hopey and changey" stuff.
Dave. I swear I’ve never seen that cartoon. I think a lot of Americans are on the same page.

Dang, I knew there was a reason I haven’t obtained my BS degree despite seven years of college...
(I was deployed twice.)
I saw a sign touting a road project funded by stimulus money near DC - ALL of the workers appeared to be of Spanish descent - toiling away in the hot August sun, no blacks, no whites.
Lousy graduation rate -- might have something to do with the NEA controlling education... Ya think?
Cash for Flunkers...
Maybe my worthless Brother-In-Law (If you know him he probably owes you money)and his four adult children, living in Farmington, none of who finished school, can cash in!
Did I say CASH? He will be right there with his hand out!
That’s just a sampling of how stupidly the stimulus money is being spent everywhere.
Three more topical cartoons from Trever of the ABQ Journal:
Trever has a whole bunch of Obamacare cartoons. I'd post them, but probably have the thread pulled for copyright violations.
You nailed it:
It might have something to do with the fact that Mexican-Americans don’t think that education is that important.
My DIL’s family was in New Mexico before Coronado or Onate and no-one that they knew had ever graduated from high school, it just wasn’t that important. I nagged at her to get a GED and then one day she decided that she couldn’t live without a high school diploma. The schools accomodated her and she received her diploma ten years after she should have. She has 2 semesters of college and she’ll be getting her degree.
None of our schools made AYP but we only have a 17% drop out rate.
Hmm, let me see. They mandate preschool, kindergarten and then another 12 years of indoctrination in earth worship. Kids are savvier than what they get at school and want to get the heck out of boring classrooms. We think we need a nation of college graduates when what we need are plumbers, welders, electricians, etc. We got rid of vocational education which gave the very kids who drop out the tools to get a job. The Department of Indoctrination (I mean Education) should be disbanded and all the school district offices with layers upon layers of bureaucrats who spend NO time in the classroom need to be fired. Along with lousy teachers who suck up space and do not teach anything.
