In my personal opinion, Obama is a disaster for America. I believe future historians will describe this period as the OBAMA CATASTROPHE - the time when America collectively lost its mind and voted for a man and a group of leftists who quickly destroyed the nation in favor of socialism and income redistribution.
However, if people want to save the American nation and way of life - the best and most benevolent society in human history; opposition must be passionate and RATIONAL. The entire legitimacy or birther issue is indeed passionate but definitely not rational.
It has been frustrating to see my fellow-Freepers waste so much time and effort arguing that Obama isn't a legitimate president. He is and no amount of wishful thinking to the contrary will change that fact.

What has become of us? I know some conservatives tend to lean towards mindless conspiracy theories but this is getting ridiculous.
Free Republic is a forum where conservative issues are discussed, hopefully rationally but always passionately. I remember when we all laughed at the conspiracy theories emanating from the liberals and leftists (i.e., 9-11 was an inside job) and now the same type of lunacy has infected this forum.
Time to stop the birther distraction and focus on the real issue of saving the Republic.

Born on US soil is a Natural Born Citizen. That was English Common Law at the time of the Declaration and Constitution. Has it changed since then? Then name the law or court case that spells it out.

We need to find and focus on those issues (higher and higher taxes, soon-to-be lack of health care, etc.) that the AVERAGE AMERICAN can understand and realize what nObama is trying to pull on us.
While we can sit and debate the legitimacy of the TOTUS, most people's eyes just glaze over when you start spouting the facts on it. Worse yet, since Letterman, Maher and the other pseudo-newsies on the boob tube have declared anyone who questions "the One's" birth certificate to be a loon, it is a losing argument out there.
Fight the battle, fine. Just understand that it will do absolutely Jack-spit out there in convincing the general public to vote out TOTUS and his band of Czars.

We were told that if Hillary or McCain had anything on him they would use it.
We were also told by Obama that if he was attacked on the issue of his birth certificate he would destroy either Hillary or McCain if they dared to attack him on this issue.
So as a recap since well before the election we have been told that we must beat him on the issues, and that no one can attack him on his birth certificate or he will destroy all that oppose him on this matter.
YOU HAVE FAILED TO BEAT HIM ON THE ISSUES.
Why now do we have to continue to follow a strategy that has failed every time it has been used against him?
Fair play and open debate do not work against this man, he does not play by the rules and he silences his critics with threats against them.

Perhaps, Edward, when and if you become a citizen of the United States, your point of view will matter. As a non-citizen, it does not.
Obama’s evasive behavior in this matter reflects badly on HIM, not on us.
I don’t think he’s legitimate for a few reasons. But even if he is, how does asking for documented proof make US look bad? People who are buying into that meme are the ones falling into the Alinsky trap.
Images on the Internet are not proof of anything. He mislabeled his Certification of Live Birth (COLB) as “Barack Obama’s Official Birth Certificate,” and urged his followers to spread the word he’d provided “proof” when that was NOT the long-form birth certificate we were looking for.
In addition, the COLB he showed us appears to be FORGED; it is missing creases, stamp and signature, and has numerous other problems. It first turned up on DailyKos, and it seems to have come from a template on PhotoBucket.
I am embarrassed by the conservatives who accept this as proof of eligibility.
The only people who claim to have seen a hard copy of the COLB are a few people from Obama shills FactCheck. FactCheck has ties to Obama through the Annenberg Foundation, which funds FactCheck and also funded Obama and Bill Ayers’ Chicago Annenberg Challenge. Even if FactCheck is not in on the gag, what expertise do they have in vetting the document? Why can’t other news outlets also see it?
For every “proof” the Obama team has offered up, there is a corresponding lie, inconsistency, alternate explanation, or loophole. He has potential citizenship ties to the US, Britain, Kenya, and Indonesia, and no one knows exactly if or when he was a citizen of each of these countries.
With all the unanswered questions and all the lies we have been told by the Obama team, the media, and others, it is more than reasonable to demand a full review of all Obama’s hidden documentation: birth certificate (short and long form), passport records, Selective Service registration, and school records that would help us unravel Obama’s complicated citizenship status - which we now know NO OFFICIAL body has ever checked.
Even if Obama has all the proof in the world and is hiding it away to spring it on us later in some sort of a trap, it STILL reflects badly on him. He promised TRANSPARENCY. He promised to UNIFY the country. His actions are evasive and polarizing.
This issue reflects badly on Obama ALL AROUND.
We’re NOT trying to win a popularity contest with the hardcore leftists. We’re trying to win the hearts/minds of reasonable people by exposing Omoslem.
If we had VIDEO of Omoslem’s birth in Kenya or wherever that Commie was born, and showed it to libs, they’d say its not him. Then they’d say OK its him, he lied, but everybody lies about their birth.
In other words, they’ll never agree with Freepers. Ever. Everrrr. Get over it.

Omoslem is dirty. That much we know. The question is “dirty in exactly which ways,” and exactly how do we expose it.
Remember how the leftists IGNORED Limbaugh for decades? Until early 2009. They don’t attack directly until they are VERY WORRIED.
That’s why Birthers, and Freepers, and John Q Public are getting attacked nonstop by the SRM now.
They don’t attack until they have no choice. Their attack, in itself, shows we’re already winning.
Anything that can be thrown at him, should be and the more sand we can dump in his undies, the better.

Give Obama a chance? Let's take a walk down memory lane. Remember the screams that Bush stole the 2000 election? That he was poisoning children by putting arsenic in the water? That he was killing millions by not funding stem-cell research?
Remember the bumper stickers? "He's not MY president!" "Somewhere in Texas a village is missing its idiot." "Re-Defeat Bush" and, of course, the ubiquitous "1-20-09."
Let's remember the supposed "loyal opposition" — Harry Reid on the floor of the Senate screaming that the war in Iraq was "lost," Jack Murtha slandering an innocent platoon of Marines as cold-blooded murderers and Washington Congressman Jim McDermott telling CNN "I trust Saddam Hussein more than I trust George Bush."
Have you forgotten Nancy Pelosi traveling to Syria to meet with Bashir Assad, or Jimmy Carter groveling to Hugo Chavez, both insisting they had as much right to conduct foreign policy as the elected president of the United States?
Or let's just talk plain slander — "BusHitler," "Bush Lied, People Died," "Bush is a cocaine freak." "Bush is a dry drunk." "Bush is a fascist." "Bush knew Sept. 11 was going to happen." Just for fun, why not Google "chimp" or "chimpy Bush."

For the last eight years, the Democrats have blackmailed this country. "Put us in office," they made it clear, "or we will ruin you. We will lie. We will give aid and comfort to the enemy.
