Since when should a state House vote determine to natural-born citizenship for someone?

You heard it right, on Monday, the Hawaii House of Representives voted to declare Obama a "Natural Born Citizen". Instead of producing the birth certificate, their vote is supposed to somehow make this official.

It was also reported that Dr. Fukino based her statement on the House vote as to Obama being "natural born and born in Hawaii". The House vote came out with a notice that "Obama was born in Hawaii, and is an American natural-born citizen".

Long-form vault copy or a House vote to provide proof of natural-born citizenship?

Give me a break. Absolutely rediculous.

That's what the 14th amendment was adopted to remedy, a state of affairs where Dred Scott could be a citizen in one state and property in another.

And what result did it create?

Edit - “Since when should a state House vote to determine to natural-born citizenshipize (Yo! Webster...New Word!) someone?

How ‘bout when they are basking & wallowing in “Obama’s Cornucopia of Porkish Opulence”, consuming wine, scones, and quiche, all while discusing the future political agenda for the United Nations’ New World Order based on “Starship Troopers”...

Looks like they need to do it quickly. With House and Senate seemingly in accord, an amendment may very well be in the works behind the scenes. How many states would reliably be opposed, do you think, 1/4? Enough to prevent ratification? I’ve contended that it’s clearly unconstitutional, but that doesn’t seem to have stopped anything in, especially, the past six months.

I’m seeing these state 10th resolutions in a new light. Had been wondering what set it into motion, was thinking healthcare, but maybe that’s not all.

I would certainly work to prevent adoption of any Consitutional Amendment that would seek to alter the eligibility requirement.

What they could do if they try to do anything at all is get rid of the “natural-born” requirement entirely, and substitute a touchy-feely “resident of the United States for at least 14 years” or some such globalist nonsense.

Citizen? How quaint.

If the answer is that clear, why is it that Dick Cheney stood before the Congress and certified the election? Why is it that Chief Justice Roberts voluntarily delivered the Oath of Office to Obama? Why is it that not one Republican Governor, Senator or House Member has states that Obama cannot be a Natural Born Citizen because his father was a Kenyan?,

To avoid civil war.

He was elected by the republic in a fair and legal election. It is not their place to go against the will of the people. The BC should have been verified BEFORE the election, but since we have a press that worked only to elect Obama, the issue was never investigated and forced out like John McCain's BC issues.

But nothing rests on the birth certificate

EXACTLY!

The BC could disprove NBC but could not prove it.

Of course who knows what the "real" BC might disclose?

Playing what if on this topic gets very intriguing.

Could his true parentage be different?

Could his race be different?

Could his true place of birth be different?

Could his date of birth be different?

Why is it that the GOP nominated for President the same man that undermined their majority in both houses while they also had the White House?

Those are the same people you cite for being on one side of the NBC issue.

Don’t cite Republican elected officials as any standard of truth, courage, or integrity.

Heck, they wouldn’t have even impeached Clinton if freepers hadn’t pushed it so hard.

The Congress and SCOTUS have always known the term “Natural Born Citizen”.

When they use that term that is what they mean.

When they do not use that term then that is not what they mean.

Citizen at birth is not the same as Natural Born.

If Congress wanted the law to say Natural Born, they would have said Natural Born.

But they didn’t.

> Then California ought to declare Arnold a natural born citizen too.

I wish they would try to do that. Then watch the dems go nuts.
