Obama may be a natural born citizen after all

I have spent time trying to make sense of the recent debate over Obama's Constitutional qualifications to be President of the United States and have recently come to the conclusion that Obama would be a "natural born" U.S. citizen if his father was Obama Sr., a British subject and Kenyan national at the time of his birth.

Your definition of natural born is incorrect. If NEITHER of his parents were citizens and he was born here he would be a natural born citizen. Normally if he were even born overseas to a mother or father who was a citizen he would be natural born. The law at the time said that in order to pass citizenship the mother had to be a citizen of the US, a resident for at least 10 years 5 Of which had to be after her 14th birthday. Since she was 18 it was impossible to have been a resident of the US for 5 years after her 14th birthday. So, if he was born in Hawaii there is no question that he is a citizen. If he was born in Kenya he is not because of this hole in the law at the time.

This still does not deal with the adoption to an Indonesian and the fact that he held himself out to be an Indonesian citizen by traveling under their passport when he was an adult. I digress.

It is corroborative evidence on its face, as I said, of Barack Obama being born in Hawaii.

I think we have established the fact that these newspapers simply reprinted birth information from Hawaiian Health Officials records. So they may be of value, depending on how accurate and reliable the information was that was given to the Hawaiian Health Officials.

As I said, we still don't know exactly how accurate this information was that was given to these Hawaiian Health officials in the first place -- which forms the very reason why Obama long-form birth certificate is proving to be central to the final resolution to this issue.

My only argument is with the people who say if he was born in the U.S. (which I doubt) to only one U.S. parent, he isn't eligible. That part isn't true.

The US Constitution states that to be eligible to serve as President, a person must be a Natural Born Citizen.

There is a huge difference between simply being a US citizen, and being a Natural Born US Citizen.

You have to be born on US soil to two US Citizen parents to be a Natural Born US Citizen.

you forget his mother didn’t meet the age requirement for O to be a natural born citizen, and there is the pesky problem that his mother seems to have renounced citizenship for her family when she married Sotero... this is all so tiresome, if he is legal then he should have produced evidence.. he hasn’t, until he does I think he is hiding something.

Our Government doesn’t.

It has in the past made it almost impossible for the children of American soldiers born to women in other countries to become American Citizens.

Even today despite legislation that allows them to become citizens, their actual birth fathers must recognise their existence and sponsor them in this country, before they can be legitimised as American citizens.

The British Government took an entirely different approach, under their laws at the time Obama was born he would have been recognised as a British subject since he was the son of his father even if his father abandoned him in this country when he returned to Kenya.

If I am not mistaken, I believe you are quoting from a statute that deals with Obama's mother being outside of the country rather than actually being in this country, i.e., Hawaii, at the time of Obama Jr's birth.

If my assumption proves to be true, than Obama Jr., being born of a U.S. citizen, in this country, would be a "natural born" U.S. citizen.

So many are confounding the issue with so many small details. It is just obfuscation to detract from the central issue.
The whole issue should be concentrated on obtaining Obozo’s
REAL birth certificate, as made in the Hospital.

I have told many Obots on the stupid Topix forums, Say he was born on the streets and, therefore, does not have an original certificate. They have blown that by claiming that he was born in Kapialoni. That claim, however, has also turned into a can of worms.

There needs only to be a public outcry... “Show us the REAL birth certificate, or explain why there is not one.”

Let constitutional scholars argue any fine details.

Only if he was also born on US soil.

And, let's not forget that per the laws on the books at the time, Stanley Ann wasn't old enough at the time of Barry's birth to legally covey simple US citizenship to him.

He's got serious legal issues with his constitutional eligibility to hold office, no matter which way you look at him.
