The Issue of Obama’s Birthplace Won’t Go Away
From Sea to Shining Sea ^ | 7/19/09 | Purple Mountains

Posted on 07/19/2009 6:49:59 AM PDT by PurpleMountains

Fair-minded people are still baffled by Obama’s refusal to clear up the continuing controversy over his birthplace, and by his determination to stop every attempt to delve into this matter through harassment and costly litigation. He is reported to have spent over a million dollars in legal fees fighting the determination of this issue.

His relatives have testified that he was born in Kenya, but not under oath. His original birth certificate has been withheld; what are we to believe? Our Constitution clearly states that a person born on foreign soil when only one parent is a USA citizen cannot become President.

Re; Dr. Orly, I think we just going to have to face it, there are still a few patriots out there who are willing to sacrifice and lay down their lives for America- just like our forefathers. Believe it or not. All the slurs, all the hits on this lady is not going to change that.

It’s fitting that a Russian immigrant, who sought freedom and liberty in the land of milk and honey, be the self-made lawyer to lynch a fraudulent president operating as a tyrannical Marxist dictator in the Oval Office.

God bless her and keep her safe.

"For the purposes of this case it is not necessary to solve these doubts." In other words, defining natural-born citizen is not part of their decision.

You seem to be attributing the solving of doubts incorrectly, Non-Sequitur:

"it was never doubted that all children born in a country of parents who were its citizens became themselves, upon their birth, citizens also. These were natives or natural-born citizens"

Additionally, the doubts expressed were not doubts about "natural-born citizens," they were doubts expressed about citizens:

"Some authorities go further and include as citizens children born within the jurisdiction without reference to the citizenship of their parents"

So, the clear meaning of this is that "natural-born citizen" can mean nothing other than born a citizen without a doubt.

That's not clear at all. Especially since other, later cases found that not to be the case. The Ark and Elg cases, for example.

Ark and Elg addressed "citizen" only, Non-Sequitur. Neither of those opinions addressed "natural-born citizen."

Would you like for me to cut and paste the pertinent text, so we can see, that neither addressed or even mentioned this pertinent, specific Constitutional term, unlike Minor v. Happersett, which clearly did address the term, and still does?

Outside of her much-balleyhooed eligibility lawsuits, she’s also working with Jamie Gorelick, did you know that?

Obviously.

She is NOT in working with Jamie Gorelick

Orly Taitz denies being spokesperson for AIPAC, which employs Jamie Gorelick as legal counsel?

I admit Hale goes off on tangents and can be kooky, but he
NEVER claimed Leo Donofrio was kidnapped.

Oh yes Plains Radio certainly did claim Donofrio had been kidnapped by “Islamofascists,” and not only that, claimed to have Sue Myrick (R-NC) coming on to validate it.

Oh for crying out loud. You can’t back up your claims and resort to “Obot.” That stirred the pot quite well back during the fall, but it doesn’t wash now, not with me.

Thank you for confirming that Gorelick and Taitz do both work for the same outfit, patriot08.

That’s mere citizenship you are talking about, not the unique variety of citizenship that is required as to qualify for the Presidency - Natural Born Citizenship.

You bring up some interesting points. I agree with them all. If someone ever gets a court to order discovery they should ask for BOTH a copy of the original birth certificate and also generate a COLB. (Released directly from Hawaii)

We would be able to see what his real COLB would look like to compare it directly the the supposed forgery.

I also want all his other relevant paperwork released through the courts.

*****

What makes me sick day after day is the way Hawaii high-ranking BUREAUCRATS---yes, I am including the Republican governor---continue to insult the public's intelligence by stating that the COLB that Obama displays on the internet is "authentic", when evidence is INCREASINGLY coming to light each day that the term "African" was NEVER used in Hawaii in 1961 to classify a parent's "Race".

However, as most of us know, Obama's father is listed on Obama's "authentic" short form COLB as "African."

Could someone out there please explain to me how Hawaii bureaucrats like the Republican governor can continue to insult our intelligence by claiming that Obama's father was listed as "African" way back in Aug. 1961.

Those high-ranking Hawaii officials, including the Republican governor, must think we the public are made up of a bunch of blind, stupid people.

I say this to those Hawaii high-ranking officials, like the Republican governor, who continue to insult my intelligence:

LET THE OBAMA LONG FORM BIRTH CERTIFICATE GO!

You should have released Obama's long form birth certificate long ago!

Doubt entered the picture due to Obama being born a British citizen under The British Nationality Act of 1948, in effect at the time of his birth. He cannot be, as a state of nature, considered a born citizen of the United States, when he was born British.

The UK doesn't get to write our citizenship laws. Not since 1776, anyway.

No, we got to write our own citizenship laws, and those laws preclude anyone whose born, United States citizenship is in doubt from attaining the Presidency. Obama being born a British citizen means doubt. Obama’s father not even being a resident alien means doubt.

Before the public voted and the electors voted and the House counted the electoral votes, it was stipulated that his daddy was a Kenyan. And he was sworn in without a peep. Making the case that Zero is ineligible based on the admitted facts and a set of arcane legal theories is a total waste of time at this point.

Questioning his eligibility based on new facts is difficult, but has an outside chance of engaging the public interest, which is critical to any possibility of success. But even if he were found to have been born in Kenya, the Supreme Court would cite separation of powers and toss the hot potato in Congress's lap. No way would the Court order him removed on their own initiative. What would happen next would be entirely a function of the public mood, which in turn would be a function of his overall approval rating and how deceived folks felt in the wake of the factual (not the legal) revelations.
