Sarah Palin: Happy 4th of July!
Facebook ^ | 7/4/09 | Sarah Palin

Posted on 07/04/2009 2:00:04 PM PDT by rintense

On this Independence Day, I am so very proud of all those who have chosen to serve our great nation and I honor their selflessness and the sacrifices of their families, too.

If I may, I would like to take a moment to reflect on the last 24 hours and share my thoughts with you.

First, I want to thank you for your support and hard work on the values we share. Those values led me to the decision my family and I made. Yesterday, my family and I announced a decision that is in Alaska’s best interest and it always feels good to do what is right. We have accomplished more during this one term than most governors do in two – and I am proud of the great team that helped to build these wonderful successes. Energy independence and national security, fiscal restraint, smaller government, and local control have been my priorities and will remain my priorities.

For months now, I have consulted with friends and family, and with the Lieutenant Governor, about what is best for our wonderful state. I even made a few administrative changes over that course in time in preparation for yesterday. We have accomplished so much and there’s much more to do, but my family and I determined after prayerful consideration that sacrificing my title helps Alaska most. And once I decided not to run for re-election, my decision was that much easier – I’ve never been one to waste time or resources. Those who know me know this is the right decision and obvious decision at that, including Senator John McCain. I thank him for his kind, insightful comments.

The response in the main stream media has been most predictable, ironic, and as always, detached from the lives of ordinary Americans who are sick of the “politics of personal destruction”. How sad that Washington and the media will never understand; it’s about country. And though it's honorable for countless others to leave their positions for a higher calling and without finishing a term, of course we know by now, for some reason a different standard applies for the decisions I make. But every American understands what it takes to make a decision because it’s right for all, including your family.

I shared with you yesterday my heartfelt and candid reasons for this change; I’ve never thought I needed a title before one’s name to forge progress in America. I am now looking ahead and how we can advance this country together with our values of less government intervention, greater energy independence, stronger national security, and much-needed fiscal restraint. I hope you will join me. Now is the time to rebuild and help our nation achieve greatness!

God bless you! And I look forward to making a difference – with you!

Sarah

Let’s hope she assembles a quality team & organization who will not back down when attacked by the rat communists.

“is either called diplomacy or sarcasm”

And for those that prefer a sharper point on their diplomacy, it can be known as “Not burning your bridges behind you”.

The 1939 movie with Jimmy Stewart “Mr. Smith Goes to Washington” is on TCM right now...the parallels are amazing to what Gov. Sarah Palin did yesterday. She isn’t quitting anything...she is a true PATRIOT because she does care. It was in almost every sentence she uttered...”beyond Alaska, to all America” quitting, going with the flow?? Her comment..”we all know here in Alaska that the only thing going with the flow are fish..dead fish”! Brillent. She wacked the MSM right upside along the head. There isn’t a politician in this country today that wouldn’t give his last dime to have just a small part of what Palin has naturally...total carisma, crowd appeal, and well versed language coming straight from her heart, not a telaprompter. Why do you suppose the MSM is still nipping at her heels and trying to one up her with a plausible explanation for her announcement yesterday??

That quote right there seals the deal, she IS running for President. If there was ever any doubt that sealed the deal right there..Sarah is a smart cookie, people are not giving her enough credit. She is highly intelligent and knows EXACTLY what she is doing. She has my FULL support. If she runs, I am voting for HER..and as far as what she said about John McCain, of course she will always be grateful to him for selecting her, she probably has a lot of resentment of him for the way he never had her back, but after all, she has more CLASS in her pinky finger then most in the Republican party. God Bless her

Cut Sarah some slack. She shouldn't be your target, McCain should be.

I believe she is on to something, people are sooo tired of the MSM and being lied to. She needs to move it to the MSM failing the COUNTRY, the PEOPLE, by not doing their job. She needs to call them out every time and ask why they refuse to fulfill their responsibility, with vetting Bam, with all the stuff he is doing and with all the corruption.

We may have something here.

I thank him for his kind, insightful comments.

One of the dumbest and most naive things Governor Palin has ever said. Ever. Guess she likes the view from underneath the buss and the feeling of knives in her back.

No, dude, that's diplomacy. He and she and we all know the truth about the way he has behaved. By saying this, she appears gracious and he appears like the embittered and disloyal fellow he is. Clever of her. This is diplomat-speak and everyone in Washington, including Juan McCain, understands it. A bit like congressmen who despise one another will refer to one another as "my esteemed colleague" or "the distinguished gentleman from Massachusetts."

I’m in.

And another donation has gone to: sarahpac.com.

She will work to influence the 2010 elections. We lose them, it’s over for America. She is focussing on the most important issue facing America today.

A true patriot.

I suggest that libtards start investing on helmets, bcause liberal heads are going to start exploding all over the place.

Let’s help her make Democrats a question on Jeopardy: “Alex, I’ll take defunct America-hating political parties for $ 200.00”

She’s running, ya’ll!!!

From her statement: “I’ve never thought I needed a title before one’s name to forge progress in America.”

Sounds like she isn’t going to seek a title position but rather work at things she can do that doesn’t have a title or the job descriptions of elected office. JMO.

she couln’t possibly be talking about a one term senator who began his run for president when he first entered the senate chambers, is she?

I was so excited about her admission that she's seeking a "higher calling", that I totally missed the veiled reference to Zero.

You're right. I think she just called him out.

Rock on Sarah, you Betcha! A very articulate, patiotic, loving wife and mother scares the pants out of a great many! If even I, from the most liberal-puke state of all, Massachusetts, can witness an already mounting “O” regrets, there is the real HOPE and CHAGNE acoming in 2010 and 2012! Ronny, we havn’t given up on the shining city on the hill, Sarah’s leading the charge!!!!!!

Did you notice just a hint of gray in her hair yesterday....Possible to make her look more mature, and therefore more experienced.
