The Consumer Financial Protection Agency would be in charge of regulating those products in the same way other government agencies regulate the safety of drugs, food and toys.

Obama said Americans are demanding it

Too much paperwork? Too much legalese?Too much fine print? I know! Let’s create a new federal regulatory agency, which can pass a whole lot of new regulations!! That will clear the problem right up!

Oh sweet mother of stupidity. Insurance companies in Canada all went with plain-English in their policies because of market discipline; one company ran a successful ad campaign on the theme in the 1070s and the others followed. Consumer choices would do far more to weed out bad actors than all the regulators in the world.

I say we need someone in charge of regulating the fine print and any other size print in the out of control bills the congress is pushing through without even reading. There should be a mandatory minimum 1 hour of debate for each page of legislation prior to voting by each house of congress.

If we can't stop them from destroying the country, we can at least slow them down.

A Fine Print Czar?

Hey, I need a job do you think I can clean up after the first dog and be called the Dog Poo Czar. I only expect $165K yr, + gov’t benefits and retirement of course.

I could then get a book deal and dish the facts about when the water dog made too much water.

This from a government whose legislators don't even bother reading the laws they pass.
