Rabbi Moshe ben Maimon, also known as Moses Maimonides or the Rambam was not only one of the greatest Torah scholars of all time, he was a rabbi, physician, and philosopher in during the Middle Ages. Much of his career he was in the personal doctor Saladin, the 12th Century Sultan of Egypt. Along with his great books on Jewish learning, he wrote 10 breakthrough medical books and had many medical cures that had been lost through time.
One of them might have been found. A doctor at the University of Haifa has tested a compound based on an inedible plant that grows in Israel, and has found it shows excellent results in stopping prostate and colon cancer in mice, and in human cancer cells in vitro. This discovery was inspired by an ancient Arabic text, who's author just might be the former doctor of the sultan:

So what’s the name of the plant? Mesquite?
Pretty good shelf life... must have some great preservatives in it.
It will be suppressed, if found to be effective.
Too many BILLIONS OF DOLLARS made in the cancer biz to allow a remedy to come to market.
Especially if it can be grown on your patio.
Yep, since it can’t be patented they’ll work overtime to discredit any such treatment.

Thanks, Civ for this fascinating information.
Wow! This sounds like it could be amazing.
As if we should wait till doctors and researchers try something themselves...NOT.
Further, do you folks have any idea how many chemicals tested show effects at this stage (that is, in vitro tests in cancer cell lines)? Thousands. This is pure hype that should not be given a second thought.
Invoking the Rambam's name to pimp a company is disgusting.
thanks, bfl
This is a *tease* article.
I can’t wait to here how this was the “vitamin” that the Russian athletes used back in the Cold War era that let them win all of their gold medals. NOW YOU CAN GET A MONTHLY SUPPLY FOR $29.99!!!
Now that’s just too cool!
