Knife Ban Situation Heating Up

CBP's denial of an extension seems to be a clear indication that they do not intend to act in a fair and reasonable manner on this issue and have already made their decision to go ahead. That may be a somewhat cynical viewpoint, but given the history of CBP, it seems like a good bet. That means we have to set the stage for the next act, which will likely be conducted both in court and in Congress.

Same Government that will tell you which plant leaves you can smoke, and how much tax you should pay to do so.

It’s also possible that CBP knows what asshats this makes them out to be and will simply drop the matter, obviating the need for an extension.

How did we get to a point in America where a rogue agency can make it’s own laws without going through the legislative process?

I still don’t understand why anyone would think it makes sense to take knives away from a person that can legally own handguns.

They’ll be in your bedroom next. BTW, how about Liberals outlawing sticks and stones? Man has been killing his fellow man back to the cave days.

They are trying to instigate a war. They think, and I stress think, that they will prevail should the citizens rise up... If you note the way that our current adminstration is doing everything it can to piss off the citizens, destroy the economy, and subvert our national security... well, it’s obvious what is happening.

It takes a total idiot (read that government official) to totally miss the message being sent by Americans with the dramatic increase in firearms sales. Why our Government is trying to make enemies out of us is mind boggling. It’s self destructive and frankly, suicidal on their part. They don’t seem to get that we are ALL Americans and need to work together.

Leave our guns, knives, bedroom and such alone. Quit trying to run every aspect of our lives. It won’t work and it’s going to spark a war that no one wants... at least on the side of the citizen. But should it come to pass, the Government cannot win such a melee. They don’t understand the people they are trying to rule... Or how this nation handles oppression.

Mike

It will eventually be illegal to make a fist. They’ll probably start teaching that to the kids in school soon.

I've contacted my Congressional reps. I also just ordered a couple more KA BARs and some 550 to wrap handles with etc.

Plus, over the last couple of months I've given knives as gifts for any occasion. Including a couple of knives that would be un-importable under the proposal - to my Mom and MIL for mother's day. Let them make outlaws of a couple of women in their 70s. (thumb stud opening "rescue" knives that include glass breakers and seatbelt cutters)

Hard to believe, but it became impossible for children to carry pocketknives at school about a decade ago. I am still incensed about it. 100 years ago, a boy that did not possess a pocketknife was considered in need of friendly counseling. Children were advised to carry knives to learn responsibility.

We have got to start taking the culture back. This is another front.

Congress granted the executive the authority to write regulations.

It'll be OK to make a fist in school---in sex-ed class.

A knife is an arm; is it not protected by the same 2nd amendment that Heller declared protected my guns?

Like they care. The best part of any government job (other than squandering money that someone else worked for) is NEVER NEVER NEVER having to admit that you're wrong.

Just 10 more Czars and we'll have the full set of Bama's-Raiders, all 31 flavors! :^)

The more you tighten your grip, Tarkin Obama, the more star systems states will slip through your fingers. :)

“How did we get to a point in America where a rogue agency can make it’s own laws “

Administrative agencies of the government are the real 4th branch of government. They have law making powers... upheld by SCOTUS several times.. and are heavily staffed by the dems and libs.

Worse, since most are unionized it is not just the dems who have power there. UNIONS do too!

Read my tag line.
