Col. Mandell House served as Presidential advisor from the turn of the century to the middle of the second WW. He conceived of the League of Nations, a world bank and court, and convinced Pres. Wilson to carry the banner after he absorbed Houses' book Phillip Dru, Administrator, published in 1906. Book still available in paperback with a search. The parallels are uncanny.

Wow! Barry's attitude exactly. I had never heard of House before and this is very interesting. Perhaps WWI kept Wilson from going even further down this road; perhaps only an outside event will be able to keep Obama from carrying out House's plan.

Twenty one Czars, unencumbered use of extra-Constitutional powers (firing of executives, backing of warranties, setting pay rates of executives, transfer of wealth from bond-holders to union thugs), control of the banks, insurance companies, and auto companies. How is this NOT Marxism?

If the media had any intellectual curiosity, he would have been bounced out of the primaries long ago. But, we're stuck for at least 3.5 more years - probably 7.5 more.

Regardless of who attempted to violate the Constitution and reorganize the government by using unaccaountable dictators or czars the people are just learning of what Obama is attempting and that is why there has not yet been a push back.
For those of us who follow politics and policy it is obvious that he is reaching for greater government control and attempting to socialize America.
The people have already expressed their strong disapproval of the government running private corporations and Obama is starting to feel a push back. He is making his move toward socialism so quickly that people are waiting to clearly figure out what Obama and his administration have planned for we the people. I am hopeful that after the dust settles and the people clearly know what is being done there will be an uprising against socialism in this country.
I am absolutely confident that the economy will tank with Obama's massive tax and spend policies. The 2010 elections are gradually approaching and from the initial indications Obama and his people are going to be in for a rude awakening.

I read Philip Dru: Administrator a couple of weeks ago.

I was struck by the fact that Dru and his allies were willing to go as far as open rebellion and civil war to get what they wanted.

They also considered themselves to be enlightened and their opposition to be benighted and would come around if only they could be shown the errors of their ways.

I was reminded of some the things Michelle Obama has said; Obama/Dru fixing the holes in our souls among them. Dru is very much like a Messiah figure in the book, just as the One is in the minds of the enlightened.
