Obama Administration Overturns Georgia Voter Verification Process
A Semi-News/Semi-Satire from AzConservative ^ | 6 June 2009 | John Semmens

Posted on 06/06/2009 6:02:44 PM PDT by John Semmens

The U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) has ruled that the State of Georgia may not use driver’s license photo ids or Social Security numbers to verify the eligibility of those casting ballots in that state.

Loretta King, acting assistant attorney general of the Justice Department’s civil rights division, said that “requiring prospective voters to submit to such scrutiny at the polls would be humiliating and tend to reduce voter turnout—contravening the Administration’s policy of ensuring that all have access to the right to vote.”

King went on to cite the “disproportionate impact on those without easy access to these forms of documentation. Those who cannot read may not be able to obtain driver’s licenses because they can’t pass the written exam. Those who cannot show a valid birth certificate can’t obtain a valid Social Security number.”

The need for such close scrutiny was challenged as “excessively burdensome” by the DOJ. “We don’t require this level of documentation to be elected president,” King observed. “Why should the lesser task of merely voting for president be subjected to a rigorous standard?”

Will this get to the Supreme Court for a final ruling? I sure hope so...

I dont see how they can do this.

States have a right to conduct elections how they see fit.

I hope so, too. Everything they do that can be fought must be fought. We need to be offensive as well as defensive.

“We don’t require this level of documentation to be elected president,”

Unfortunately, we are SUPPOSED to require a birth certificate for the president. Obviously, this Constitutional requirement of actually being ELIGIBLE is not the official policy of the One.

What is humiliating about proving eligibility? It seems to me they are more worried about hurting the feeling of the voter who shouldn’t be voting in the first place. When are we going to say enough is enough!!!!

This is the sort of lawyer you get with the Obama Regime ~ a Loretta King who is so ignorant she is apparantly unaware the Supreme Court says requiring picture identification of voters is reasonable.

He could have hired some quality talent but it seemed to me he was more interested in getting people in there who would make it OK to sell pornography to 6 year olds ~ the others, like this King woman just sort of oozed in.

Let's face it, Obama is far more interested in party time and making sure his penis has "access" than affairs of state.

the SCOTUS has already ruled (Indiana, IIRC) that reasonable voter ID measures are constitutional . . .

So tell me...how will they ensure that the person voting is the actual registered voter? How will they prevent someone from voting multiple times in different locations? How can you get a voter identification card and even register to vote without some way to prove your identity?...etc.?

The South has always been castigated in the past because it was claimed voter fraud was rampant and the minority was “disenfranchised”. What, they want to do the same thing now? Is this the Chicago way, too?

This ridiculous ruling makes the FEDS look incredibly stoooopid!

The Democrats don’t want anyone to show proof of eligibility. They want as many felons and illegal aliens to vote as possible.

GANGSTER AMERICA 2009

=========================

In Obama's America, Americans can be forced at gunpoint to vote for
whom the Masters choose. Obama's Gangster-DOJ encouraged such gangster tactics.

John,

I know that you work hard at this, but I think that every one of these types of posts should have the word SATIRE in parenthesis at the start of the title.

God bless.
