Matthews Continues His Inquisition of Republicans on the Theory of Evolution - Video 5/6/09

Here is video of Chris Matthews yesterday continuing his inquisition of Republicans on the question of, "Do you believe in evolution?" This time it was Tom Tancredo's turn. Yesterday, he did the same thing to GOP Congressman Mike Pence.

Matthews should ask the question differently. He should be asking, "Do you reject the Biblical account of Creation?" That's what he seems to be trying to get Republicans to say. Matthews is trying to make a distorted argument that people who believe in the truth of the Bible reject all science. He kept trying to make the link to "Climate Change" as well - when the truthfulness of Al Gore's impending doom with Global Warming is truly in great doubt. This was a fairly lame effort by Matthews. . . . . . (Watch Video)

Evoloserism is basically incompatible with modern mathematics and probability theory. Nobody should fear to say this to a cretin like Chris Mathews.

There is no conflict between the facts of evolution and a proper understanding of the Biblical account.

The reason for pressing this issue is that the creationism is a fairly blatant symptom of anti-intellectualism, and infestations of anti-intellectualism is one of the biggest weak points of the GOP.

Note: “Evoloserism” is what you call the Theory of Evolution when you’re short on evidence but long on rhetoric.

“Nobody should fear to say this to a cretin like Chris Mathews.”

On the left, evolution is a religious litmus test. Believing in God shows that a person is stupid. Believing in paganism, of course, shows how evolved one is.

Obamachev downplaying prayer day yesterday was a nod to the atheist left.

It's not believing in God that does that. It's believing Creation occurred in the space of 144 hours, 6000 years ago.

YEC is the Achilles Heel of the Right, just as Gun Control is of the Left. A belief the extremists on each side demand their politicians give lip service to.

Many “World renowned” evolutionists (i.e. Richard Dawkins) have admitted they “sorta have a faith” when discussing how things in nature that “appear” designed, actually have come about without design.

Mr. Dawkins admits that evolution gives the “appearance” of design but is not designed (an odd assertion IMHO).... Many (like me) assume that a structure that looks to be designed for a specific purpose (say a wing for flying), must be! But somehow (?) it IS NOT,just appears to be, but somehow works just like it was designed. (Whew!) . This has (to me and many others) the “appearance of illogic”!

This dogma of Darwinism (to me) has the “appearance” of the stuff that comes out of the end of our digestive systems (that weren’t designed... only appear to be?) than anything resembling science and critical thought!

All this idiocy of course, is to eliminate an intelligent purposeful creator which is anathema to the liberal mindset... which leads me to observe: Psalm 14:1, which states: “Only the fool has said in his heart there is no God...” Mr. Matthews and his liberal minions are seriously striving to be “Exhibit A”!!! Yet they are much “smarter” than we???

Well said. Time for the flat/young earthers to take a good hard look at themselves and the pain the are inflicting on the Republican party and the country. I for one am getting sick and tired of sharing the tent with them. They make us all a laughing-stock.

I think that if Charles Darwin were alive today and appeared on “Hardball”, and Chris asked him that...faced with the evidence across the table, even Darwin would have to reconsider evolution.

Who are these “flat-earthers” you speak of? (the voting public? Our reps?)

What is the “pain” they are afflicting on the Republican Party? (legislation or policies?)

What is embarrassing, sickening, or laughable about whomever you are speaking?

Too bad he doesn't have me on as a guest! If he would actually have a two-way discussion about the topic, it would be the last time he would ever raise it.

“A belief the extremists on each side demand their politicians give lip service to. “

If you mean by extremism, opposition to abortion, the gay agenda, and the secularization of the marketplace, then I guess I am an extremist.

Social conservatives certainly have their right to ask politicians to support their views.
