NEW ABU YAHYA AL-LIBI BOOK OUT

This morning, Al-Fajr Media launched a new 29-page book by Abu Yahya al-Libi entitled, A Spear to Fight the Government and the Army of Pakistan

It’s chalk full of ideo-religious stuff in order to lay a groundwork for overthrowing Islamic regimes, something that most of Islamic history declares a big no-no.

This is just one more chapter in the long book of Abu Yahya’s attempt to rewrite Islam from within. It’s his attempt to labotomize the religion and cram it full of Abu Yahya’isms. In my view, ABu Yahya is Machiavellian in his ambition.

Few seem to get how scary this cat is: he believes that he can remake Islam in his image through these 30 page books. Here’s his basic strategy:

1. Take a criticism being used against the Jihadist movement (e.g. when people criticize AQ for killing innocent Muslims or for unjustly trying to overthrow Muslim governments)

2. Demonstrate that a) the criticism is faulty; and b) that Jihadist actions are just, through meticulous and exhaustive citation of religious texts

3. Then, casually mention that although Jihadists are religious sanctioned based on centuries of Islamic scholarship, not to mention the Quran and Hadeeth, it doesnt really matter because things have changed so fundamentally that they are no longer applicable.

4. Because they are no longer applicable, casually suggest that an entirely new religious foundation (including prescriptions and proscriptions on action) is needed

5. Thereby, implying that Abu Yahya al-Libi is going to be the guy to lay that new foundation….

We’re dealing with a pure revolutionary here, on par with Lenin or Mussolini.

Al-Libi escaped in July 2005, and has since appeared in a number of propaganda videos, using his religious training to influence people and legitimize the actions of al-Qa´ida.

Al-Libi is a key motivator in the global jihadi movement and his messages convey a clear threat to U.S. persons or property worldwide. Al-Libi is believed to be in hiding in Afghanistan or Pakistan.
