For once, I actually agree with Olbermann. Rep. Foxx should indeed apologize.
Matthew Shepard was brutally beaten, tortured and murdered in Wyoming. His story is portrayed in the play and film "The Laramie Project".
Personally, I disagree with "hate crime" legislation because all crime can be considered "hateful". Does it really matter why someone is murdered? Murder is by definition a "hate crime". Is there really any need to complicate the laws?
That said, Rep. Foxx's comments are truly "despicable", insensitive and shameful.

I don't like Conservatives panicking or jumping the gun just because the truth may seem callous. I just watched the first minute of it and maybe I'll watch more, but she didn't call Shepard a fag, homo; etc.
I will not join in the hysteria over this and will not go crazy just because Olber(wo)mann says I have to!
The truth cannot always be candy coated, especially since the lie it refutes could be used to pass evil, anti free speech, anti Constitutional (title of nobility) legislation.

What about all kinds of people murdered for whatever reasons? We are supposed to believe and react that his death is worse then all other death. Sorry, but no. Olberman is an idiot, and nothing the representative said was inaccurate or insensitive. The Matthew Shepard murder was about robbery and drugs. The fact that the perps used his homosexuality to lure him into the robbery does not make it a hate crime. It was a brutal crime, but the perps were brought to justice under existing laws for the brutal crime. The sexual orientation of the victim makes no difference and should not be grounds for having a different level of protection under the law than some other class of victim.
Keith Obamafan then sinks even lower in his diatribe when he suggests that the Congresswoman is a liar. Nothing she said could be construed as a lie, given the FACTS regarding the Shepard murder that have been made public over the past several years.
To top it off, Obamafan decides to take a parting shot at President Bush by including a snide comment about how many days it has been since the "former President declared 'mission accomplished' in Iraq" even though this vile, hate-mongering sycophant for the left knows full well that Bush never said any such thing. Olberman is either more woefully ignorant and misinformed than most middle-school children or he is a vitriolic bald-faced liar.
And having done so you are obviously guilty of something and must be punished accordingly.

Olberman is just another lefist media Grammscian marxist automaton. He mindlessly mouthes the gay-supremacist propaganda line. The homosexual community doesn’t just want equality: they won’t be satisfied until they can have sex on a park bench and all the public forced to watch and applaud when it’s over, or face moral ostracism, social persecution and even incarceration.
But I always ask why wasn’t there a play and a movie about the 12 year old boy Jesse who was tortured and raped and by 2 adult gay men at the same time that the Matthew Shephard killing occurred.
p.s. there’s evidence to suggest that the Shepherd killing had nothing to do his being gay — the killers were meth addicts who wanted money.

Foxx in their one-sided coverage of this issue: WGHP Fox-8, WXII-12 (NBC), WFMY-2 (CBS), DigTriad.com website, and news-record.com (Greensboro News and Record). The comments on all of these websites regarding the Foxx story are loaded with hate-filled leftist comments, so come to Foxx’s defense and for the sake of Freedom of Speech!
