Quite a contrast to the silent treatment Marines gave Obama at his Camp LeJeune speech in late February. Just how did Obama manage to fix that little problem? According to a sergeant in Iraq :
We were pre-screened, asked by officials “Who voted for Obama?”, and then those who raised their hands were shuffled to the front of the receiving line. They even handed out digital cameras and asked them to hold them up. [Via Macsmind.
As supporting evidence for the digital-cameras part of the story, the sergeant (or Mac, can’t tell which), suggests that the identical cameras can be verified in the AP photos. Looks right:

The truth is the “surprise visit” was purposly leaked so that Obama could get the optimium MSM adulation.
Once that happened, it would have been to dangerous for him to move around in Iraq. If his visit would have been a genuine surprise, like the times Bush went there, Obama could have moved around a bit.

As a former infantryman, I agree with some previous analysis I saw which indicates there wasn’t a single combat arms troop in the bunch. The whole lot are chairborne rangers.

You've missed the whole point, THE MEDIA is not telling you this. It came out on a BLOGGERS website. If you read the whole article she makes it crystal clear any manipulation of the troops by Bush , real or imaginary , was covered. It's this kind of staged "truth" that led to an ineligible Marxist America-hating Muslim to usurp the Presidency .

Whenever senators or Congress reps come to Iraq, e-mails go out from the Public Affairs Office announcing who will be here and asking those interested in attending a lunch or some other PR-type event to contact the PAO.
In other words, it's a voluntary thing and nobody is ever asked for whom they voted.
I'd sure like some independent verification of this. I know from being deployed that there is a limited number and type of items to buy at the exchange. You can look around and see lots of folks wearing the same running shoes, listening to the same MP3 player, sporting the same t-shirts, using the same digital camera...whatever was in the last shipment from the states...
