Bushfire Jihad in Australia?
by Daniel Pipes March 26, 2009
As fires swept through a hot and dry Victoria State, Australia in February 2009, some observers (including myself) wondered if this might not be an Islamist attack on the country. But one stayed quiet, not having proof.
Now, Mervyn F. Bendle, a senior lecturer in History and Communications at James Cook University, Queensland, has come out and made the argument in a 6,000-word article, "Australia's nightmare: bushfire jihad and pyroterrorism," in the National Observer. Bendle marshals an impressive body of evidence. But first, a review of what happened:

At a certain point, your home-grown supply of morons and firebugs is insufficient to explain the rate of fires starting...
there is ONE option: EXPEL all muslims who refuse to disavow the parts of the quran that encourage violence.
it WILL be that eventually. before they set off a nuke, or after. It’s society’s choice, unfortunately.
"Despite this evidence, Bendle notes, the Victoria Police hyperbolically dismissed the possibility of an Islamist attack even as the blaze was in full force and well before it had any knowledge of the fires' cause."
Maybe, maybe not. Pipes offers nothing but speculation and the one arsonist I heard of who was charged by Australian authorities wasn’t a Moslem.
I’ve considered this too, and it’s an effective way to harm a country.. but I’d expect some rabid Islamic group to claim it as a succesful attack as well.
I agree and that is why the title has a question mark on it.
I’m posting this here for archival purposes.
what’s teh double dots for?
Sort of like a dot and a comma mixed together.. it’s a typing habit I guess.
one problem with this report is that although it gets a message out there, which is good, it also might give muslims ideas, who otherwise didn’t consider burning stuff. because how are we ever going to prove it?
It’s quite a conundrum, but I do think it’s best to spread the word if investigators establish the likely motivation behind this large-scale arson (which it probably was, IMO).. at least people can then watch out for suspicious behaviour, possibly preventing reoccurance.
This topic is not new and is a follow-up for archival purposes to previous reports.
