If you don’t bow to Chairman Mao, then you are going to catch the wrath of the state media.
There is something creepy about a middle aged guy going to a Britney Spears concert...
I guess Rep. Cantor is trying to prove that he can survive the enhanced interrogation techniques we used against the terrorists in Club Gitmo.
But Britney Spears? Good grief!
Well, Britney does speak without a teleprompter. No doubt, it was a more intelligent crowd.
waiting for paint to dry and grass to grow is more informative and intellectually stimulating and dare I say, factually accurate than watching and listening to Barry read from a prompter.
Not to worry, he Tivoed it in case he had insomnia after the concert.
Pray for America and Our Troops
I’d also rather go to a Britney Spears concert than listen to Obamarx.
(for all you grasshoppers out there)Eddie Cantor, Vaudeville 1923
The List, ping
Which Freeper can point out the obvious problem with how Eric Cantor approached responding to this?
didn’t zero have better things to do rather than watch the farewell press conference of GWB???
Spears is easier to listen to than Obama (and I don’t particularly care for her music). Does she use a teleprompter?
800 Billion things I would rather have done than watch Obama’s News Conference, the most boring hour in the history of television!
Good for Cantor, expect him to the be the new “whipping boy” of Left now, (Rush, Santelli, Cramer, Beck, Rove..have gone before him).
Republican Leader Rep. Eric Cantor is unimpressed with all the uproar over the revelation that he attended a Britney Spears concert while President Obama convened the second primetime news conference of his presidency. "I don't know why that's an issue whatsoever," said the House Minority Whip. "There was a concert and I had a political event at that concert. Look, that is why I was there."I didn't watch it either. I've rarely watched any presidential press conference. I don't plan to watch any of his faux-presidential press conferences.
... Cantor had to skip much of his party's big annual fundraiser last night for House GOP candidates to go rake in money for his own campaign at Ms. Baby One More Time's show. He left the GOP dinner around 9 p.m., we're told, to head over to the Verizon Center. We're told by one GOP leadership aide that the conservative whip didn't exactly enjoy himself, but did what he had to do to save his party. "If suffering through a Britney Spears concert will raise one more dime to help Republicans take back the House, then next time there should be 100 more members sitting there with Cantor," the source says...
...As reported by wonkette.com, Cantor's office confirmed the attendance, saying that he was not the only politician in the group of Britney's concertgoers. Democratic Senator Landrieu was also there along with other Democrats. Landrieu's office denies the charge and Cantor's office now claims that it cannot "verify 100 percent certainty" that she was there.
I was listening to MSNBC, Nora O’Donnell this morning, and she was raking another GOP congressman over the coals because Cantor had the audacity to attend this concert instead of watching Obama’s press conference...I couldn’t believe how put out she was by this as if it was mandatory viewing by all.
