Obama's Brown Shirts

Remember this? (see video at link)

Obama's vision of a domestic security force "just as strong, just as well funded as our military" ( and presumbly loyal to him personally) just got a lot closer.

The House of representatives has just passed HR 1388 otherwise known as the Generations Invigorating Volunteerism and Education (GIVE) Act. This reauthorizes through 2014 the National and Community Service Act of 1990 and the Domestic Volunteer Service Act of 1973, acts that originally, among other programs, funded the AmeriCorps and the National Senior Service Corps.

However, it not only reauthorizes the programs, but also includes "new programs and studies" and an allocation of $6 billion over the next five years, according to the Congressional Budget Office.

When you look at the language of the bill closely,it gets even more interesting. The bill specifically mentions possibilities if "all individuals in the United States were expected to perform national service or were required to perform a certain amount of national service."

If these requirements were made mandatory, the bill says it "would strengthen the social fabric of the Nation and overcome civic challenges by bringing together people from diverse economic, ethnic, and educational backgrounds."

And it mentions "The means to develop awareness of national service and volunteer opportunities at a young age by creating, expanding, and promoting service options for elementary and secondary school students, through service learning or other means, and by raising awareness of existing incentives."

Those groups of volunteers would according to the bill, be "grouped together as appropriate in campuses for operational, support, and boarding purposes. The Corps campus for a unit shall be in a facility or central location established as the operational headquarters and boarding place for the unit. … There shall be a superintendent for each camp."

Take a minute to think about the implications of all this, given the sort of person who's in the White House.

All of these things were hidden away within the 200 pages of legislation..and the bill itself was mainly billed as federal support for establishing the anniversary of the September 11 terrorist attacks on America as "a National Day of Service and Remembrance."

Some of the smarter boys like Duncan Hunter weren't fooled, but a number of others were..and the bill passed with an enthusiastic yes from every Democrat who's been on record as consistently voting against anything to do with our military or national security...Neil Abercrombie, John Conyers, Jim McDermott,George Miller, Jim Moran, Nancy Pelosi..and of course Keith Ellison. The whole crew was there, unfortunately joined by a number of people who I expected would know better.

Paranoid? Perhaps, but this bears close watching. Why spend six bil on this just now?

At this point, I don't trust the current occupant of the White House in the least. But you can't say I didn't give him a chance.

I pray for our courage if and when the day comes Raptor. All the weaponry in the world doesn't convey courage to those who bear them. Nor do they give willingness to kill and die. Winchesters and Ka-Bar's are merely tools. The real weapons are in our hearts.

I'd like to share an excerpt from Solzhenitsyn's Gulag Archepelago. It's footnote 5, from Chapter One of Volume One.

"And how we burned in the camps later, thinking: What would things have been like if every Security operative, when he went out at night to make an arrest, had been uncertain if he would return alive and had to say goodbye to his family? Or if, during periods of mass arrests, as for example in Leningrad, when they arrested a quarter of the entire city, people had not simply sat there in their lairs, paling in terror at every bang of the downstairs door, and every step on the staircase, but had understood that that they had nothing left to lose and had boldly set up in the downstairs hall an ambush with half a dozen people with axes, hammers, pokers and whatever was at hand? After all, you knew ahead of time that those bluecaps were out at night for no good purpose. And you could be sure ahead of time that you’d be cracking the skull of a cutthroat. Or what about that Black Maria sitting out there on the street with one lonely chauffer – what if it had been driven off or its tires spiked? The Organs would very quickly have suffered a shortage of officers and transport and, notwithstanding all of Stalin’s thirst, the cursed machine would have ground to a halt! If…if… We didn’t love freedom enough. And even more – we had no awareness of the real situation. We spent ourselves in one unrestrained outburst in 1917, and then we hurried to submit. We submitted with pleasure! (Arthur Ransome describes a workers meeting in Yaroslavl in 1921. Delegates were sent to the workers from the Central Committee in Moscow to confer on the substance of the argument about trade unions. The representative of the opposition, Y. Larin, explained to the trade workers that their trade union must be their defense against the administration, that they possessed rights which they had won and upon which no one else had any right to infringe. The workers however were completely indifferent, simply not comprehending whom they still needed to be defended against and why they still needed any rights. When the spokesman rebuked them for their laziness and for getting out of hand, and demanded sacrifices from them – overtime work without pay, reductions in food, military discipline in the factory administration – this aroused great elation and applause.) We purely and simply deserved everything that happened afterward."

A few paragraphs later he wrote..."Every man has handy a dozen glib little reasons why he is right not to sacrifice himself."

Anyone doubt communism is here now?”

I’m still stuck on “How did “we” elect Obama?

It could only have happened with full co-operation from the Republican carpetbaggers.

There isn’t going to be a “civilian security force”. Not if I have anything to say about it.

I see our newly elected criminal, Roe, voted for this obscenity. Time to start calling his offices ‘from back home’. The fool also voted for the unconstitutional targeted tax on AIG people.

In his book, The Bill of Rights: Creation and Reconstruction, Akhil Reed Amar argues persuasively that the national military draft is unconstitutional, because it essentially negates the constitutional clauses relating to the State militias. The same arguments might apply to other types of mandatory federal service...

Not only is obama, michelle and rahmbo planning on military boot camps for our teens and older, (that will go to war if more military is needed), he is going to hand over the funds to his democrat alliances and others who paid for his election. Soros says America is fascist. In truth Soros is fascist and has plans to see Americas demise. Put the funding in his hands and control(?) will be a death sentence to all of us. Remember Soros collected property and wealth from the Jews as they were led to camps. He has no guilt he did that either.

The Democrat Party platform’s hidden Soros Slush Fund

http://michellemalkin.com/2008/08/20/the-democrat-party-platforms-hidden-soros-slush-fund/

“Social Investment Fund Network.” The program would provide federal money to “social entrepreneurs and leading nonprofit organizations [that] are assisting schools, lifting families out of poverty, filling health care gaps, and inspiring others to lead change in their own communities.” The Democrat Party promises to “support these results-oriented innovators” by creating an office to “coordinate government and nonprofit efforts” and then showering “a series of grants” on the chosen groups “to replicate these programs nationwide.”

This George Soros Slush Fund would be political payback in spades. Obama owes much of his Chicago political success to financial support from radical, left-wing billionaire and leading “social entrepreneur” Soros.

In concert with his mandatory volunteerism pitch and $6 billion anti-poverty plan, Obama called for the creation of a “Social Entrepreneurship Agency” to dispense the funds in unspecified amounts.

Even more troubling is how the Democrat Party/Obama plan would siphon away untold millions or billions of public tax dollars into the Soros empire without taxpayer recourse. Obama promises “accountability” measures to ensure the money is spent wisely.

Soros has donated some $5 billion of his fortune to left-wing non-profit groups through the Open Society Institute — which is committed to Soros’s militant ideology of toppling the “fascist” tyranny of the United States, which he says must undergo “de-Nazification” in favor of “justice.” The mob at Obama-endorsing MoveOn, purveyors of the “General Betray Us” smear against Commanding General, MNF-I, David Petraeus, is the most notorious Soros-backed political arm.

Point in case: ACORN. As I’ve reported before, Obama’s old friends at the Chicago-based non-profit now take in 40 percent of its revenues from American taxpayers.

Where are fiscal conservatives on this far-Left boondoggle? Well, if you’re wondering why the McCain campaign doesn’t raise hell over this proposed left-wing non-profit/government pipeline, it’s because McCain himself is a Soros beneficiary. His “Reform Institute, ” a tax-exempt, supposedly independent 501(c)(3) group focused on campaign finance reform, was funded with Soros-funded Open Society Institute and Tides Foundation.

That neckscarf has become popular even with some politicians. Pelosi has been pictured wearing it. Arafat wore it on his head with the cord.

Forget what the name of it is.

All right on the money, VR-21. I, for one, am more than ready to let it fly. I’ve watched this crap happen over a long period of time, and I’m sick of it. We only need a handful of leaders to get things rolling, I’m firmly convinced of that. There’s been a slow burn happening across our country for the past 20 years and it will boil over soon. You are completely right that some of us will take the fall on the front end, being among the first to stand up. But that’s always the way it is.
