I skimmed thru the bill. There is a provision for Mentoring. What if the Pubbies were smart enough to make this mean that kids could be mentored by successful business people to learn what it takes to be successful in a Capitalist society. Might short circuit a lot of this Socialism.
I wouldn’t have kids in this country, and if I did, I’d move them to another country and raise them there.

Universities are bad enough. Yes, we need to worry the parents. This is pure indoctrination. I can almost see Obama thinking, “So they mocked my ‘community organizing,’ did they?? Well, pretty soon the whole country will be doing it!”
Already there is “mandatory” volunteering or community service in order to graduate from high school, and you would be amazed at the lazy and not altruistic ways the kids fulfill that.
You cannot FORCE people to “give.” That is called “take.”

The Volokh Conspiracy’s Jim Lindgren: “it would be the public schools that would impose federal standards of coerced service on each child as part of their requirements for graduation. For students, service would be involuntary. Even for the public schools, their participation would be only nominally voluntary – for how many public schools can survive without federal assistance?”
