Mary-Kate Olsen is totally unrecognizable on the cover and inside of the March 2009 issue of Interview. It’s a different look for her, ice goth queen meets strung-out chic in a daring dash against her previous innocence. Some would say, bring back the old Mary-Kate; others would applaud her for the new creativity. What is your verdict?

One of the best examples of the technique I have ever seen was a portrait of Sigourney Weaver, done by Robert Mapplethorpe. (Yes, the bullwhip guy.) Let's see if I can find it.
Nope. can't ... bummer. It was (is?) astonishingly beautiful.
In any case, when we literally remove all colour from the image, we need the model to put all sorts of figurative colour into the image with body-language and facial expression. In this image, not only is it literally colourless it's figuratively colourless as well.
Very interesting observations. I hadn’t even noticed the pictures were shot in color!
I cut my bangs off really short. My mom was madder than hell, she had to take me on an emergency run to the beauty shop and they chopped all my hair off into a “pixie” hairstyle and then did a perm. I’m surprised I was able to sit down for the school picture, LOL!
