Franken Making Enemies as Election Trial Goes On
American Spectator/Yidwithlid ^ | 2/17/09 | Yidwithlid

Today was the 16th day of the Minnesota court proceedings to determine which of the ballots from the senate campaign will be counted resulting in a definitive answer whether Norm Coleman or Al Franken will be representing the state in the US Senate.

Coleman has been a daily attendee at the trial, participating in the case to determine his political future and making himself available to the press.

Franken on the other hand, has behaved more like a Borscht Belt Comedian doing his Florida Circuit for a few weeks. In this critical time for his nascent political career, he has been doing his best to avoid the entire situation. Not only is he not attending the trial, he has said he barely follows it. On top of that, his lack of access to the press, even his supporters in the media, is beginning to turn them against him. He certainly is not acting like someone who will fight for the needs of Minnesota:

I think he’d make more enemies if he was there. Not a very likable guy.

Franken is additional stark evidence that ANYTHING with a “D” after its name can get so many liberal votes. ANYTHING.

Maybe Franken should move to Illinois, have their legislature waive the residency requirement and then have the governor appoint him to replace Burris. Just seems to make sense to me.

In other words, Franken is a cocky white punk version of Obama.

<<Please, we have enough trouble with home-grown crooked libs! Plus, we don’t need more liberal immigrants to the State of IL, we’ve had enough trouble with imported libs (i.e. Kenyan community organizers).

In other words, Franken is confident that the fix is in. I hope he gets a big surprise.

I doubt he ever intended to.

I would think that the best for Franken would be to lose the election.

He could write a book about how the election was stolen from him and play the martyr role. The lefties would eat it up. Libs love martyrs. Franken could make a ton of money from the lefty lecture circuit.

On the other hand, if Franken did become a Senator he would be exposed as the clown and buffoon that he is. He would be a national laughing stock and a embarrassment to the Democrats. No one would take him seriously.

Take the money Al. Let Coleman do the grown-up work.

I am Minnesotan. I am not suprised that Ass Franken is Senator elect until proven otherwise. Remember, we have elected a pro wrestler for governor. Our state bird is a Loon. Any ass that calls himself a Democrat will automatically get 40% of the votes in this state.

So if Burris is found to have perjured himself, and if his perjury negates his being a valid senator, then does his vote not reduce the count the pork project passed in the Senate?

Wouldn’t that be a hoot if the senate count then ends up with 59 “ayes” for the bill?

Would that then mean that Obama has to give the trillion $$$ back to the treasury?

Hopefully the checks haven’t been cut yet.

Just wondering. — Jane Reinheimer

Minnesota needs to get this vote thing resolved so that Coleman can get on out to Washington for the next round of stimulus votes. We need a whole team of good Republicans, not the one from Penn and the Mainers

Think of it as revenge for Keith Ellison. We can’t take any more of your Chicago thugs in Minnesota.
