My 33 year old daughter, Becky, is going to have surgery in about an hour to remove a tumor from her pituitary gland. The tumor, about 1.5 cm in size, is causing her to throw off hormones which are playing havoc with her body. Because of its location, just below the optic nerve, pituitary tumors can threaten one's eyesight and surgery in this area is inherently risky to the optic nerve and could result in blindness. The procedure, which should take about three hours, accesses the pituitary gland through the nostrils.
Please pray for a good outcome and to safeguard her eyesight.
Over the past three years, while they've been trying to shrink the tumor with drug therapy, Becky has named the tumor "Fred." I hope the Fredectomy is sucessful and that Fred is evicted. . . permanently.

prayers up! ~ may the tumor be non-cancerous and removed with no trouble, may God guide the hand of the surgeon and his assistants, may the healing and restoration be quick and complete in Jesus Name!

The surgeon just left. Hooray! Becky is fine and Fred is sitting in a petri dish, dead! The surgeon says he thinks they got 100% of Fred and there was no involvement of either the optic nerve or the vein and there is enough of the pituitary gland left to do its job. Becky has another 45 minutes in the recovery room and then they will move her upstairs and get her up and walking.

Holy God,
You are perfect in all Your ways. Thank You for Your compassionate caring for sweet Becky and her family. We rejoice that she is free from this troublesome tumor and that You have restored her to complete health. Grant her rest and peace this night. Blessed is the Name of the Lord. Amen.

I just saw your Prayer Request. I hope the surgery went well, and I’ll pray for your daughter’s continued recovery, and healing.
Just read the update, too, and I’m so pleased things went well! As I said, I’ll be praying for her continued recovery, and I’ll put her on our Parish Prayer list, this week.
