There are apparently a hell of a lot of babies being made in this country.

Last July 4th, President Bush marveled at how our country had grown from 13 colonies to a nation of 300 people. In seven months time, we have exploded to the point that a half-billion Americans a month are losing jobs – according to Nancy Pelosi. At this rate, by next July 4th, there will be two-and-a-half-trillion people out of work here in the United States.

I’m no economics guru, but I would think that is something we as a country would want to avoid, no?

It’s been out there for more than a week, but for those who haven’t already seen it, it’s a funny little clip – 19 seconds long. When President Bush does it, he’s an idiot. When Nancy Pelosi does it, she is simply misspeaking. We all know what she meant!

Reporter: The economic recovery package is going too fast? I mean, maybe it won’t be ready by the President’s Day recess?

Pelosi: Every month that we do not have an economic recovery package, 500 million Americans lose their jobs. I don’t think we can go fast enough.

Excellent point. Thanks for the clarification. I’ve had the stimulus package on my mind so much lately that I reflexively used “tr” as in trillion, when the correct “-illion” should begin with “b.”
