She was the property of her overbearing partner, and the madam who helped run the prostitution ring that brought down Gov. Eliot Spitzer has the tattoo to prove it.

Cecil "Katie" Suwal was sentenced yesterday to six months in jail for her role in operating the Emperors Club VIP that serviced the notorious "Client 9," but not before her lawyer said she was controlled by her Svengali-like boss who branded her in the most humiliating of places.

But Eliot and Ashley are free as birds. It's a wonderful country.

If Eliot and Ashley get no time, then this is not just.

Guilty as hell, free as a bird, what a country. A crisis is a terrible thing to waste.

“The person standing before you is not the same as the one who was deluded into criminal conduct”

Yeah, this one is scared.

Justice? You want justice from our judicial system?

While factually correct, you gotta believe Prince Eliot’s life is a living hell, from trying to find employment to looking his wife and daughters in the eye every day.

To me, thats very satisfying. The guy was a bully with immense power which he habitually abused, just as he did his marriage vows.

As for the ho...I just don’t care. Everybody that knows her knows ‘what’ she is.

Why bother with justice? If we bothered with justice, half of our government would probably be in jail.

It does seem odd that there are no charges against Spitzer or the call girl but they’re charging a 24 year old who obviously was not the brains behind the operation.

You’re right, Spitzer is paying a price for his infidelity and even more for his previous bullying. The Spitzer foundation (aka tax dodge) also lost a lot of money in the Madoff mess.

Does anyone else remember why the whole Spitzer affair wasn't "Just about sex"? (like, say, the Stainmaker's escapades) My recollection is that Spitzer was said to have committed some crime or other by crossing State lines to bop the babe, or maybe he transported her. Anyway, what happened to that? Or is my recollection wrong?

Isn’t she a Republican? And the other two are.... probably can’t find that in the story.

With all the scandals it’s hard to keep them straight but it wasn’t just about sex. Wasn’t there some question of state funds or wire transfers?

Now that I think about it, didn’t he do his wire transfers in such a way as to avoid detection and not trigger a bank warning? Apparently that is illegal. IIRC there may have been other charges pending but they all seem to have disappeared. I’d have to try to google it.

I suspect Eliot has a bigger file on folks than the Clinton’s have.
