1. The Republican party initiated TARP and the prescription medication bill. They no longer represent the politics of smaller government.

2. The Republican party nominated John McCain as their POTUS candidate. They no longer represent the Constitution.

3. The Republican party just completed a seminar in which they agreed to work WITH Obama. They are no longer the party to fight the Democrats.

4. Prominant members of the Republican party have stated that we lost the election because we didn’t reach out enough. IOW - they feel that they need to be more like democrats. This is a losing strategy. They are no longer interested in winning elections.

= = = =
Republican party = Seinfeld party.
They are the party of nothing.
= = = =

The Republican party is going to have to move to the right, grow a spine and stand for the Constitution if they want me to vote blindly for them anymore. Having an (R) behind their name no longer represents automatic support. As far as “feeling alone”, well I felt that way when McCain wrapped up the nomination. There’s about six republican senators and maybe a dozen representatives and a few governors who have earned my respect...but its because of what they’ve done, not because of their party affiliation.

Never say “never”.

The Whigs thought they’d never be extinct either.

"I've decided to stick it out and fight with every fiber of my being and every ounce of strength I have left. What about you?"

You seem to be overlooking the fact that many of us here have already been trying to do what you are describing.

Been there, done that, got the tee-shirt.

But hey, go for it!

Knock yourself out!

Good luck with that!

Write when you find work!

No - the Republican "leadership" has done an excellent job of separating the Republican party from the conservative movement all by themselves.

Everything you say is correct (although his original question is correct too). He said

“Should we build up the Republican Party and make it an effective fighting force against the forces of Obamaism, or should we head of for the exits an go our own separate ways?’”

ANSWER: Build up the Republican Party

Your question points out that the RINOs have hobbled the GOP’s ability articulate an agenda and defeat the Dems.

“what do we do with the Rockerfeller RINO’s that rarely pass up a chance to undermine the Conservatives that make up the real ‘political muscle’ in the Republican Party?”

ANSWER: Sideline, hobble, work around or co-opt them. Defeat them in primaries, get and support real conservative spokesmen.

“Watch and see who from the GOP pops up to blast any House Republican protesting the insane ‘economic stimulus bill’ which is anything BUT a stimulus package, folks.”

Rep Boehner, who blasted the Dem boondoggle bill, is taking the RIGHT approach.
Sen Cornyn, who has slowed down confirmations, is taking the RIGHT approach.

Here should be our challenge to Sen McCain and the RINOS:
FILIBUSTER THE STIMULUS BILL.

McCain says he is against deficit spending and big pork bills. PROVE IT SENATOR. This is the biggest and baddest pork bill in American history. Senator McCain, you owe it to the American people to FILIBUSTER THIS BILL.

I already left him a message on this - I urge everyone who read this to send the same message to very GOP Senator, ESPECIALLY Sen McCain -FILIBUSTER THE STIMULUS BILL 202-224-3121.

"I love sending the RNC nasty notes back to them in prepaid solicitation letters."

They've quit sending me letters, and they don't call either.

(..snif..)

“The simple fact remains that like it or not, the Republican Party is the only national institution of its size capable of effectively opposing the radical socialist agenda of BHO and the Democrats in Congress.”

Unfortunately, there is the simple fact that they have proven that they can’t or are not willing.

In past times, I would have agreed with almost everything that you said.

When the traitors and political criminals that run this country have been brought to justice, by whatever means necessary, I may reconsider, but not one second before.

Frankly, and regrettably, I no longer believe that this can be fixed in the traditional fashion.

Joined at the hip? Funny. Instead of lecturing us why don't you lecture the members of the GOP who have been walking and running away from conservatism.

It’s already separated.

I couldn’t in good conscience vote for McCain.

I outlined a plausible course of action. What would you suggest as the most effective means of opposing Obamuism? I suggested building up our institutions, what do you suggest? Tearing them down? Starting from scratch? Creating new political parties?

Instead of just trashing my ideas, share yours as well so we can draw strength from eachother’s ideas and viewpoints. Isn’t that why we’re all here to begin with?

Or is it simply easier just to bitch and attack eachother?

"..minor differences divide you from others with whom you share common ground,"

O.K., I'm going to disagree with your whole post. Citing that statement above is just the tip-o-the-iceberg.

IMO (never-to-be-humble) most people in this country are more conservative than socialist, yes, even the ones who vote for dummycrats.

The problem is that all those conservatives are as ignorant as stones about our government, politicians, the economy, foreign policy, etc., and therefore have no idea who they should support and vote for.

Not stupid, ignorant.

We can fix ignorant.

Funny the DemocRATS never saw the need to run a moderate candidate. Since Clinton, they've been running people from the far left wing of their party assuming that sooner or later the country will embrace "change" even if they run an empty suit. Oba Mao proved this theory right.

We don't have the advantage of a lamestream media promoting the DNC pick 24/7. We do, however, have the advantage of tapping into the sour mood of the country when "hope and change" and other empty slogans fail to deliver. We only need a candidate who can communicate that vision rather than McCaniac claptrap about reaching across the aisle.

Barry Goldwater lost big in 1964, but he left the country with a vision and contrast which was able to begin climbing out of the hole with the election of Ronald Reagan as Governor of California just two short years later. McCain lost a lot smaller in 2008 (thanks largely, IMHO, to Sarah on the ticket) and all he's seemed to learn is that he needs to do more of the same DemocRAT lite policies which made him so popular with the enemedia who sold his opponent to a gullible public who was tired of more of the same.

Not so fast there FRiend. You are correct, but you're missing one component...advertising. Our media has essentially become a defacto advertising organ, exercising all the same mechanisms and enjoying all the same results. Simple education is NOT sufficient to overcome an advertising campaign that makes contact every time news consumer turns to a conventional source of information.

I maintain the "news media" of today has no more in common with the press referred to in the Constitution than the "arms" of that time do with the modern variety.

I outlined a plausible course of action.

I don't think it's plausible.

What would you suggest as the most effective means of opposing Obamuism?

Take a massive income cut and starve the Fed beast. Make like Atlas and shrug. The sooner we bring things down, the better.

I suggested building up our institutions, what do you suggest?

Our institutions are the problem.

Tearing them down? Starting from scratch?

Yep.

Creating new political parties?

That too. The Pubs are finished and quite deservedly so.
