VP Joe Biden Makes Fun of Chief Justice John Roberts - Video 1/21/09

Here is video of Vice-President Joe Biden - the ultimate gaffemaster - taking a shot at Chief Justice John Roberts today about his mistake yesterday in administering the Oath of Office to Barack Obama. Biden was asked by Obama to swear-in White House staffers today at a ceremony, and before doing so, Biden cracked, "My memory is not as good as Chief Justice Roberts'." President Obama was obviously uncomfortable with Biden's remark, as you will notice he gently nudges Biden's elbow as if to say "move on Joe."

Lest anyone has forgotten Joe Biden's many gaffes, here is one of my favorites. Biden was at a campaign rally in Columbia, Missouri in 2008 and he asked State Sen. Chuck Graham to "stand up, Chuck, let em see ya." Problem is, Graham is confined to a wheelchair and was sitting right in front of Biden when he said it. When Biden realizes his gaffe, he says, "Oh God luv ya - what am I talking about."

Exactly, Vice-President Biden. What are you talking about? . . . . . . (watch videos)

“President Obama was obviously uncomfortable with Biden’s remark,”

Because the Constitution requires exact wording for the oath of office, before anyone can act as president.

Don't worry, Barack; nobody reads the constitution any more, and like the birth certificate issue, there is no controlling legal authority.

Even if Obama wins in 2012 (and in my opinion that will depend solely on the state of the economic recovery and any inflation), Biden will not stand a chance in 2016 with his disrespectful attitude.

Obama won, because in spite of the fact that he’s on the wrong side of most issues, he at least shows an APPEARANCE of class. Similarly, Bill Clinton showed an appearance of class while Al Gore was classless.

A fool like this makes fun of someone several times smarter. Anyone wanting a clear view into the world of the left...here it is. Arrogance, self-importance, shamelessness and all around stupidity.

Secondly, pissing off the chief justice? Not a smart idea for any administration.

He could be the barker at a Pinhead sideshow and he still wouldn't be the smartest man in the room.

Yeah, let’s just tick off the guy who is fielding the birth certificate issues for you there Biden. Oh wait, maybe that is your angle. Then YOU would be President...

Especially when that Justice sees, and is in a position to decide a court case about Obama's legitimacy every week.

This reality is not lost on Obama; he stone faced the comment and shook his head.

I saw that and couldn’t believe what I was hearing. Biden is a disrespectful jerk. Even the way he handled the swearing in of the staff lacked the seriousness and dignity it deserved.

Maybe IQ Joe has three brain cells instead of two and the third cell is shooting for POTUS.

I don’t know if legally the President cannot stutter or stumble over the oath as long as he says the oath. He did say the word faithfully, and from a legal perspective, the oath doesn’t change in meaning at all where faithfully is placed.

The Chief Justice did not correct Obama as he misspoke the oath, so this gives further credence to the fact the the Supreme Court wouldn’t even consider such a lawsuit, and I don’t think they should.

I would hope the President would sign an oath as well, so this would not even be an issue, but I don’t know if they do that.

If for no other reason, pray Barack Hussein Obama remains healthy throughout his time in the Whitehouse.

Joe Biden is the kind of man that starts world wars with ill timed comments.

He’s a much better insurance policy than Dan Quayle.

biden has no situational judgement, but the chief justice screwed the pooch on the OATH OF OFFICE OF THE PRESIDENT. He can expect mild public ridicule, and in fact probably deserves some on this issue.

I could be proven wrong, but I think I see something....different about Obama in the past few days.

Maybe it's the weight of being handed The Reigns. Maybe it's some humbling or otherwise life-changing influence from either GWB or perhaps even Rick Warren. But Obama has lately begun to exude just a few hints of....class.

Here's hoping I'm right, and that it not only lasts - but grows.
