This May Become A Nightmare!
Trends Research Institute ^ | Gerald Celente

Posted on 12/10/2008 12:20:14 AM PST by jslade

> Celente Predicts Revolution, Food Riots, Tax Rebellions By 2012

> > > Thursday, November 13, 2008

> > > > > > > > > stock market > > > > > > > > > > Gerald Celente

> > > > > > > The man who predicted the 1987 stock market crash and the fall of the Soviet Union is now forecasting revolution in America, food riots and tax rebellions - all within four years, while cautioning that putting food on the table will be a more pressing concern than buying Christmas gifts by 2012.

> > Gerald Celente, the CEO of Trends Research Institute, is renowned for his accuracy in predicting future world and economic events, which will send a chill down your spine considering what he told Fox News this week.

> > Celente says that by 2012 America will become an undeveloped nation, that there will be a revolution marked by food riots, squatter rebellions, tax revolts and job marches, and that holidays will be more about obtaining food, not gifts.

> > “We’re going to see the end of the retail Christmas….we’re going to see a fundamental shift take place….putting food on the table is going to be more important that putting gifts under the Christmas tree,” said Celente, adding that the situation would be “worse than the great depression”.

> > “America’s going to go through a transition the likes of which no one is prepared for,” said Celente, noting that people’s refusal to acknowledge that America was even in a recession highlights how big a problem denial is in being ready for the true scale of the crisis.

> > > > > > > > > > > > > > Celente says that by 2012 America will become an undeveloped nation, that there will be a revolution marked by food riots, squatter rebellions, tax revolts and job marches, and that holidays will be more about obtaining food, not gifts.

> > > > > > > > Celente, who successfully predicted the 1997 Asian Currency Crisis, the subprime mortgage collapse and the massive devaluation of the U.S. dollar, told UPI in November last year that the following year would be known as “The Panic of 2008,” adding that “giants (would) tumble to their deaths,” which is exactly what we have witnessed with the collapse of Lehman Brothers, Bear Stearns and others. He also said that the dollar would eventually be devalued by as much as 90 per cent.

> > The consequence of what we have seen unfold this year would lead to a lowering in living standards, Celente predicted a year ago, which is also being borne out by plummeting retail sales figures.

> > The prospect of revolution was a concept echoed by a British Ministry of Defence report last year, which predicted that within 30 years, the growing gap between the super rich and the middle class, along with an urban underclass threatening social order would mean, “The world’s middle classes might unite, using access to knowledge, resources and skills to shape transnational processes in their own class interest,” and that, “The middle classes could become a revolutionary class.”

> > In a separate recent interview, Celente went further on the subject of revolution in America.

> > “There will be a revolution in this country,” he said. “It’s not going to come yet, but it’s going to come down the line and we’re going to see a third party and this was the catalyst for it: the takeover of Washington, D. C., in broad daylight by Wall Street in this bloodless coup. And it will happen as conditions continue to worsen.”

> > “The first thing to do is organize with tax revolts. That’s going to be the big one because people can’t afford to pay more school tax, property tax, any kind of tax. You’re going to start seeing those kinds of protests start to develop.”

> > “It’s going to be very bleak. Very sad. And there is going to be a lot of homeless, the likes of which we have never seen before. Tent cities are already sprouting up around the country and we’re going to see many more.”

> > “We’re going to start seeing huge areas of vacant real estate and squatters living in them as well. It’s going to be a picture the likes of which Americans are not going to be used to. It’s going to come as a shock and with it, there’s going to be a lot of crime. And the crime is going to be a lot worse than it was before because in the last 1929 Depression, people’s minds weren’t wrecked on all these modern drugs – over-the-counter drugs, or crystal meth or whatever it might be. So, you have a huge underclass of very desperate people with their minds chemically blown beyond anybody’s comprehension.”

> > The George Washington blog has compiled a list of quotes attesting to Celente’s accuracy as a trend forecaster.

> > “When CNN wants to know about the Top Trends, we ask Gerald Celente.” > — CNN Headline News

> > “A network of 25 experts whose range of specialties would rival many university faculties.” > — The Economist

> > “Gerald Celente has a knack for getting the zeitgeist right.” > — USA Today

> > “There’s not a better trend forecaster than Gerald Celente. The man knows what he’s talking about.” > - CNBC

> > “Those who take their predictions seriously … consider the Trends Research Institute.” > — The Wall Street Journal

> > “Gerald Celente is always ahead of the curve on trends and uncannily on the mark … he’s one of the most accurate forecasters around.” > — The Atlanta Journal-Constitution

> > “Mr. Celente tracks the world’s social, economic and business trends for corporate clients.” > — The New York Times

> > “Mr. Celente is a very intelligent guy. We are able to learn about trends from an authority.” > — 48 Hours, CBS News

> > “Gerald Celente has a solid track record. He has predicted everything from the 1987 stock market crash and the demise of the Soviet Union to green marketing and corporate downsizing.” > — The Detroit News

> > “Gerald Celente forecast the 1987 stock market crash, ‘green marketing,’ and the boom in gourmet coffees.” > — Chicago Tribune

> > “The Trends Research Institute is the Standard and Poors of Popular Culture.” > — The Los Angeles Times

> > “If Nostradamus were alive today, he’d have a hard time keeping up with Gerald Celente.” > — New York Post

> > So there you have it - hardly a nutjob conspiracy theorist blowhard now is he?

>

The price of not heeding his warnings could be far greater than the cost of preparing for the future now.

Storable food and gold are two good places to make a start.

MRE’s are ok but sooner or later you have to eat them. They are very expensive per calorie. If you have limited storage space they are a good alternative. A steady diet gets old. Been there done that more than once. nw_arizona_granny has a very long thread running on FR about this and other survival subjects. Check it out.

Does not matter. In this time line Skynet goes on line April 19, 2010. It becomes self aware on April 21, 2010 - Judgment Day.

Crack meet pot. I wish I had a dollar for every doom & gloomer who predicted the "End of Civilization" or some variation thereof.

Weren't any of you guys around during the "Survivalist" movement of the 1970's...remember the name Howard Ruff? How many of you invested your life savings in non-perishable foods, gold and hideaways so that you were prepared for the great collapse of the 70's?

I remember trapsing around in the streets with my trusty .45 strapped to my side and my Mini-14 with its 30 round banana clips searching for food for my family. We depleted our stash of freeze-dried food, beans and rice in the first 6 months...after that it was dog eat dog. Let me tell you that was some other kind of economic meltdown...oh wait...I forgot...IT NEVER HAPPENED!!!!

PT Barnum was right; There is a sucker born every minute.

My husband and I have been chopping firewood for, I swear 16 months straight, stocking our wood pile. We have a load of camping gear (pots, pans and the like) to use over our fireplace if need be.

Also have a reliable generator that’s tested had it mettle tested a few times.

Everytime we have a family member ask us what do we want for Christmas, we say ammo. Don’t even bother will menial gifts.

Hubby got 3 doe over the weekend. Getting those processed and leaving them in the freezer.

A country boy (or girl) can survive.

> We have takers and makers in America. Right now the takers (liberals) are reaching the 50% range. Any way you slice it, it spells some form of disaster. The takers need to suffer at this point to get the message. There’s no convincing them that they have to be productive to survive unless they see it for themselves.

It does not look to me that liberals are at 50%. Yes, the last three elections support this number. But, if you consider the situation each time:

2000: Peace, good economy, general well being - the fact that Democrats lost is close to a miracle.

2004: In the midst of a very unpopular war

2008: At the end of a very unpopular war, extremely unpopular President and a Republican contender who, in many ways, is indistinguishable from his Democratic opponent. Plus an excitement of having a Black President.

And each time, Democrats managed to get only 50% +/- a few points.

Now consider a possible situation in 2012 (perhaps event 2010) assuming President Obama performs according to expectations: higher taxes and tariffs will keep the economy poor, multiple depressing speeches from President and Congressional leadership (e.g., Jimmy Carter), corruption, etc. And, very importantly, we have to hope that Republicans would have learned their lesson about the usefulness of nominating Democrats-light.

The Orientals I've known would replace the bullion/spice package that comes with the Ramen Noodles with the packaged bullion I mentioned.

One thing I used to do with the Ramen Noodles is buy bell pepper, green onions, onions, carrots, frozen peas; I'd slice them, mostly into long skinny strips and freeze them along with any left over steak, check or other meat and use it in the noodles...

Crack meet pot

When the big snow storm hit a few years back, The Meow Family sat in front of the TV, watching everyone panic and run to the store for supplies. We didn't have to - we were prepared.

When hurricane Isabel hit in 03, The Meow Family pulled out their hurricane preparation supplies, made the rounds of the homestead, making sure everything was secure, and watched the stupid people panic on TV.

When the DC Snipers were doing their thing, The Meow Family had no worries - we didn't need to go out since we were prepared.

On Sept 12, 2001, The Meow Family added "terrorism" to their preparation list. Now we are prepared for that.

Disaster doesn't have to be a nuclear blast or zombie invasion. It can be a local crime spree, a storm or a personal tragedy, a family death or serious accident.

Only a fool would not prepare their family for disaster.

Try Ike. No power for 20 days. We survived and we hardly consumed any of our non-perishables. Many stores were open within 48 hours...including fast food restaurants.

Certainly it behooves you to be prepared for very short term disruptions; every year, prior to hurricane season, we buy batteries for our lanterns and radios and a few cans of Spam (which I happen to like), but when people begin warning of the "great meltdown," I can only laugh.

I survived the great "duck and cover" nuclear war scare in the 60's-that never happened, I survived the great collapse of the 70's that never happened, I survived Y2K scare-that never happened, and I will survive this and every other predicted chimerical collapse.

This guy is just the latest in a long line of doom & gloomers...he won't be the last.

If I grow old and die and "IT" never happens, then I've lived a good life, giving my family peace of mind, and have a great piece of mountain property to enjoy my retirement on.

If "IT" does happen, well, have fun with the government. We won't be needing them.

The Fair Tax would be a great improvement but most politicians hate it because it takes away a lot of their ability to do social engineering and to pass out tax breaks to their pals.

I work out about 5 days (45-60 minutes cardio plus light weight training 3-4 days a week) so I'm nowhere near needing the amount of calories a powerlifter needs. I just want to maintain muscle tone. But you do need to keep the extra calories/fuel your body needs if you are more active. I'm stocking up on the same things Eagle was mentioning for emergency survival needs as well as keeping plenty of oatmeal, peanut butter, dried and canned beans, canned tuna and chicken, whole grain crackers, corn bread mix, large bags of rice and don't forget evaporated milk and Canola and Olive oil for fats (our bodies and brains need fats to survive on). It might not be a bad idea to stock up on a couple extra bags of some type of protein or whey shake mix (large bags at Costco) that are ready meals when mixed with water. And keep an extra bottle of multivitamins on hand.
